Amid the specualtion of AI being resigned with the Sixers, there is a poll on Philly.com. Does this struggling Sixers team need to bring back Allen Iverson? Yes 1323 (76.4%) No 408 (23.6%)
I think Iverson back in Philly could turn out well for both team the same way bringing back Big Ben to Detroit did.
[strike]Brett Favre[/strike] AI sounds like he is set to unretire. Iverson reportedly might ‘un-retire’ with 76ers - NBA- nbcsports.msnbc.com
ESPN reporting the Sixers have come to terms with Iverson. edit for aurora: 1st game back, Dec 7 against Denver
Smilie Story of Aurora's "Process" dizzy2: :behindsof 2nd game back, Dec 9 against our Detroit Pistons on ESPN, per my NBA.com schedule! The article yesterday on the home page of nba.com had the president of the 76ers saying that he told Allen that he would be starting and that he would "most likely" play the rest of the year. So if that is so, I guess everyone, including Allen himself will find out whether he still has game and the unAnswered questions of whether he still belong in the NBA other than on the bench on a bad team will be Answered. Of course I wish him success, but I'd be dishonest if I said after watching him, not in Denver, but in Detroit (you can hardly count 3 games in Memphis) that I think he can carry an entire bad team (which is what we were that year with a lousy coach). So I don't know if Philly is an entirely lousy team. At any rate, I'm glad he is getting his shot and I hope he gets some clarity and he can take in whatever information he reaps from this experience to his benefit.
Guess who just picked up AI in a fantasy league in which Aurora is also a team manager? Perhaps a trade offer is coming soon.....
No way man. You should pay her to take him. He's going to screw up the chemistry on your fantasy team.
Surprised you didn't act on that earlier Kim, 2xRalphie picked him up in our advanced league on Sunday....
I threatened to snag him in Novice when all the Knicks talk was circulating. After New York cooled on the idea, I did too. I kept threatening to do it though and she signed him right away. She's been carrying the "retired" AI on her ball club for over two weeks. She couldn't bear the thought of not having him! I'd actually ask for Dirk AND another decent player from her roster Bill. Name your price - she'll pay it!
Oh no this is a truly horrifying development. I don't even have the will to find all the horrifying smilies at this time to express how profoundly upsetting it is to me that someone else anyone else and even particularly a fellow Pistonsforum.com member for whom I have such respect and fellow feeling for has done such a thing. Sigh. What to do...what to do...must think..not act quickly. AI is on someone else's team. How did I let that happen? Why did I drop him in that league? I guess I just forgot about him on that team. Oh pout pout pout. What an idiot I am. Well it's not a very good thing. I might have to...oh dear.
If we're talking basketball, that would not be fair. If we're talking a dinner date and a long walk along the Strip and a stop in at the Bellagio for some craps, it's a deal.
This is the kind of thing that only happens when you are vacationing in the Pacific Northwest away from your usual tv set and computer, scrambling to figure out how you are going to watch AI's game on Monday when no one you know in the area has NBATV and the computer you are using freezes up and does too slow for NBA Broadband and while you are busy trying to figure all this out a snake in the grass in your other league slithers through and snags your all time favorite player and probably puts him on the bench on his team. OUTRAGEOUS! Vengeance will be mine. Or the rape and pillage of my best players by one Bill Laimbeer. You are all witnesses!
