Sat next to Dick Bavetta on an airplane. Got yelled at by Chris Chelios at a charity golf outing. Rode in an elevator with Anika Sorenstam. Sat in front of Jonathon Lithgow at the opera. Tried to get Lou Whitaker's autograph and he sprinted to his car in Lakeland, FL, 1985. Talked to Yogi Berra at a cocktail party. I'm sure there are other lame encounters, but I can't recall them right now. Generally, I'm not into the celebrity thing and leave them alone/ pretend not to notice them out of courtesy. But it is always strange seeing famous people live.
Found a college girlfriend in Morton Andersen's dorm room giving him a back rub I'd have been okay with it if she was rubbing his feet instead :D
At the Olympia back in the early 70s, I got chased by a player named "Moose" DuPont of the Philadelphia Flyers. He got a penalty for fighting. Back then, they didn't have any glass around the penalty box. I threw my beverage at him (I was young and [STRIKE]stupid[/STRIKE] immature). He left the box and proceeded up the stairs to where I was sitting, about 6 rows back. I turned around to plan my escape when some of Detroit's finest took me away. I waved to him as I left. I only remember seeing one of his fingers as he waved back...
Ate dinner a few tables down from Thunder Dan Marjele last night! It was going great until I kept telling him that they'd regret not trading for Amir Johnson and they threw me out. I was also a little disappointed he didn't ask me out. Apparently I'm not as attractive as lpg.
Was in Portland in October in 2006 and The Supersonics were scrimmaging the Blazers, and I just happened to be walking by this hotel that I guess the Blazers were staying at. There were alot of folks standing around outside, so my buddy and I stopped and waited for a while, then a bus pulled up and out came the Supersonics, including our boy Mateen Cleaves. We had a short conversation because I was wearing my Tigers ball cap, and we were making some Michigan hoopla. It was pretty crazy, because I had met him before at an MSU basketball camp in 2000. One in which Ricky Paulding schooled the %%%% outta me. Funny both of those guys were complete Joe busts draft wise!
Mrs CJ and I videoconferenced with our upcoming CJ offspring yesterday (translation: ultrasound). It's a little lady, and somehow from the womb she already has me wrapped around her little finger (we just bought about 3 outfits at Costco for her today).
Congrats CJ..its been 19 years since I went through that experience, but I remember it quite well. The way my sons social lives are going I may never get to hold a little baby again....although my wife is fine with that...
Ten minutes ago I was introduced to the governor of Idaho. I spent a couple of minutes talking to him. What a TOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
