$50 million remains on his contract over the next 4 years. Yes, he's been injured in these playoffs, but Stuckey has far exceeded my expectations filling in for him.

I feel the same way. I think it's time for some changes. I really liked what I saw with Stuckey at the helm.

I think CB is a part of the "problem".

I believe a new coach and a new point guard would be beneficial. I'm not sure who you get to coach the team or who you get for CB, but that is what they pay Joe D. for.

I like the idea of moving on.

I don't think he has become expendable. If they thought that, they would not have signed him to that contract. Stuckey definitely gives them a different look, but I don't think it's time to turn over the car keys to him yet. Now, if they can get something decent in return for trading Chauncey, I'm willing to listen. :stirthepot:

But assessing C-Note's contribution while he's clearly been hurt is not something Dumars would do.

I wanted to S/T him last summer.

Does he have more value now? Who knows.

Either way starters should be shopped, that includes him.

IMO acquiring Nazr was kind of a knee-jerk reaction by Joe after losing Ben. Webber was a stop-gap solution heading into last years playoffs. This is the last season on Dice's contract and Sheed's contract is expiring next season.

I'd say we need a quality big.

    Thats not easy to do.

Ist off I think we should wait to see how this post-season shakes out before selling the team off. If they win then I would say give it one more run next year.

Rebuilding is not easy and its not something to look forward to. I do see a down period after this current core as I just don't see Dumars getting as lucky as he was building up this current team. I mean the odds are against it.

Perhaps seeing how bad the Pistons look with Billups injured shows that CB actually has some value. Irregardless if Billups stays or goes, Stuckey has clearly showed that he belongs at this level. Playing him less than 20 minutes per game next year would not be smart.

Good point, yet I welcome that period of rebuilding.

At least we will know what to expect from the team. Anything more will be a pleasant surprise, and if they do anything less we can all say "well, what did we expect?" :)

As we all tune in and root for our ping pong ball in the draft lottery.

We might finally get an offensively dominant big man.

I'm well aware of that and haven't been able to come up with any possible trade scenarios yet. I'm hoping Joe can work some of his old magic.

The writing's been on the wall for a long time...last night's performance put the final nail in the coffin IMO. If Flip and the players somehow manage to pull a rabbit out of their butt and get to the Finals, I will gladly eat it.

It is hard to say if he has become expendible. I think the problem is upfront. We get out rebounded on a nightly basis and this problem has been going on for the past 3 years. Sheed refuses to battle in the paint and go on the block where he clearly has an advantage most nights.

If we move Chauncey it will be hard to get equal return in value. Rick Carlisle has said he is interested in trading for Chauncey, but that would likely mean we would have to take J. Kidd back in return. That's a decent move to shake things up, but it doesn't address getting younger and doesn't help your problems upfront. If we trade Chauncey it would likely be for a young guy that is unproven, but has potential or a high first round draft pick. What would it take to pry the #2 pick from Miami? Chauncey and what else for Beasley?

I don't think he's become expendible. He's injured and it shows. Stuckey's fantastic, but i don't know if he's ready to be a year-round starter just yet.

    We can only hope.

Pick your poisen. Do you want a PF or PG? Can't win without either so I don't know. I have much more confidence in Stucky than I do in Amir Johnson.

Someone posted this at another board; not sure if he's in the know, but . . .

I was out at practice earlier today...Chauncey looked %%%%ing terrible. Guy looked tired, sick, half asleep and just out of it... This is now my 3rd year around these guys, and I have never seen him like that at all...

    MuHmeshow (or something like that)

I assume that was at WTFDetroit?

Muhme is involved with a sports radio outfit of some sort. I think his first name is Chris.

It's probably 50/50. I wouldn't take it to the bank.

As fans of this Piston team, we've become acclimated to those odds...

Well, CB didn't look so hot yesterday. It wouldn't be any great surprise that he looked even worse the next day.

Over the course of the season, he was our best player... again.

He's injured and he's playing without whining about it.

Next year he can continue to start, but play reduced minutes as Stuckey comes into his own.
