Last year all he did was whine about how they lost the ECF because of how tired he was...
He learned his lesson. He's trying to be more like Tim Duncan.
No, but Lenz can go.
I was at the Pistons game saturday night. We got there a little early. CB looked like *&*&. I have seen CB before during early warmups, no comparison. He looked worn, he just did not appear to be his usual self, even coming out of locker room when they put his mug on the big screen, he looked forlorn and just not quite himself. If anyone was at the game sat night, did you by chance observe CB right before the beginning of the second half?, he was in pain, he was under the Celts basket priotrto second half tip off, doing some stretching on the sidelines, Cassell was trying to talk to him, he blew Cassell off. CB is not effective and I feel he will not be effective in this series.
Thats not good. If they do lose because of this no one is going to accept it as an excuse after what happend to past 2 years.
Chauncey is the one guy on our team who you fear getting injured (not just b/c of importance), but he is notoriously slow to heal, and ABSOLUTELY cannot play through an injury. He just can't. He isn't effective. Would this series be different with a healthy Chaunce? Most likely. I think evidence of that was Game 2 where he looked more like himself. At this point it's just sad, the only non-injury year we had was vs. CLE, but also at this point they've had so many chances i'm not sure an injury would be reason enough to keep this core together in alot of ppl's minds, and prob Joe's. The problems seem to run much deeper, or upper if you know what i mean. edited to add; beat me to it Max
Depends on what the Stones would do at the PG position (Stuckey and ??) and what a trade would bring. I think CB is very valuable to the team, the Pistons go as far as he takes them. On the other hand, the if ain't rough it ain't right mentality/sense of entitlement of this team, I believe, stems in part from him in his role as C. The Pistons playoff game collapses are largely because they don't focus. Getting rid of CB may help reduce this behavior. This would have to go hand in hand w/ a coaching change and finding someone who will not accept less than 100% effort from his players.
Yep, he was expendable. Sheed would be much more difficult to replace.
Expendable means you can drop him. We didn't do that. We traded him for the guy who has the 3rd highest scoring average in history behind Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan. The Nugs wanted Billups so badly that they were willing to part with AI and probably also agreed to buy out 2 years worth of Dice to get him.
Not specifically discarded at all. No longer needed as relevent. Interesting that JD also wanted AI back in 2002 but Matt Gieger blocked NBA history. If we get AI then, do we lose out on Ben and the others? I'm sure his salary would've crimped something. ...I see CB as a very steadying influence on Melo and the rest. We're so deep now we can service a pure scorer like AI.
I definitely not sure. He's a great player even though he's declining somewhat but he's definitely a guy you would want on your team.
i forgot what i voted on this lol
[sarcasm]Thanks a lot for dragging my thread out of the dirt Thee[/sarcasm]...I realized I misspelled 'expendable' about 5 minutes after I could no longer edit the title :D
I'm kicking myself that I didn't make it a public 'pole' :D
After spending the past 6 months or so carefully considering this question, I feel that I'm ready to give my answer. Yes, I feel that Chauncey has become expendable. Have a nice day.
Errors that can't be corrected baby. I like how Rosc and Slippage just let the error go. So we look like a bunch of dorks.
Joe I kind of figured all along that you were lurking here as Jammer on this site.. I know it was difficult make that move during the summer after prominsing to shake things up, but thanks for finally living up to your word
If you make a mistake, report your own post. Otherwise, the only person making you look like a dork, is you. Slippy and I are not mind readers, we're bureaucrats.
Maybe you can't spell either.
Despite being ugly, hunch backed, foul of breath, noisy and clumsy in my movements, generally hideous to observe, and incorrect in my own observations, I'm a pretty decent speller.
Separate names with a comma.
