Only because he doesn't do what you and Ben Wallace want him to do. I have a feeling if you admitted this you'd take much less flack for your views.
You were talking about how it wasn't based on regular season success. What was it based on then, pre-season success? Amount of ink? His bag to me was improving a bad/marginal team and making them a pretender, getting worked in the playoffs and then moving on. I'll stop now, as it is impossible to debate a belief, and this appears like more than an opinion for you.
I really only take the flack I do because I wont' just plug my ears and scream, "We can't lose...la la la la la..." Regardless of what I want him to do, if what he does doesn't work, then I'm not jumpin on the Coach KFC bandwagon.
I thought the Pistons had won 5 playoff games in a row and lost none. What are we beefing about? We should be this............> Not this....................> That may change with a couple losses, but for now let's.....> because we all might ....> in June. When our season is over, one side or the other will have a lot more ammo.
No I wasn't. That particular post was about LB's history coming into DET compared to Flip's coming into DET. Competely different post altogether and was a response to Cloudwalker, if you had been paying attention.
Well thats the problem isn't it? It always has to be a "bandwagon" and a person always has to be on it or off of it, and it is usually determined by what runs most parallel to what they want to see. Isn't enough to support the team you are a fan of is it. You are basically running the same path as the Carlisle camp after he was canned. Only difference is Carlisle was fired and Ben was offered 10 mil per of supposed "chump change".
you're almost as snippy as you are wrong. Yeah, how could I be confused??? Re: Has Flip Sr. learned from past mistakes?? Actually Larry's successes as a coach of the Pistons was the highlight of the very same paragraph in which you allude to past success.
The incomprehensible and closed minded things are often difficult to grasp. It's amazing how I can 49% agree with you and still find you very very wrong. I'll actually stop now. (no i probably won't. )
Guys, guys, guys!!! Why all the animosity? And what any of this has to do with LB? I think that the book is still out on Flip. LB came in having experience in coaching different teams, different players. Flip on the other hand only coached one team in his NBA career. Took him a year to learn the players and the insides of the team since he is nowhere the authoritarian that LB is. Now, the team looks prepared, they are fresh, and they look to be on the mission. Whether it is all his achievement - could be up for discussion. But lets not pass a judgement on Flip until he had a few more years under his belt with Pistons. Also, who else out there would you rather have?
There's no animosity from this end. The Low has always been one of my all time favorite posters, from back in the day when we were both on the same side of the Carlisle issues. I just happen to not completely agree with him concerning Ben and Flip. I still like and respect him to the utmost. He's just wrong...thats all
Yes, my posts referencing to LB's past success is BEFORE he got to DET and didn't center on the post season performaces of those teams he coached BEFORE he got to DET. Now, if you want to prove me wrong...find any post here that I made that said anything about LB's success BEFORE he got to DET centering on post season accomplishments. Which is why my response which consisted of: "My post said nothing about winning titles every year." ...was in response to this post : ...and it clearly explained that I was NOT talking about his post season accomplishments when I discussed his history (BEFORE arriving in DET).
But what if, and mind you it is only a "what if", other people here agree with him and think that he is right on the issue. Maybe he's not all that wrong after all? And maybe he is.
