I'm sorry he's high on your list, but this is just lame. Other than his ability to inspire imitation from Carlos Arroyo and his He-Man-esque TrapJaw, there is nothing he adds to this team.

OMG, that looks so much like him.

What's your suggestion for the last spot?

As of right now, I would have just left the spot if I wasn't able to get Magloire or just bring up Samb to fill the spot at the end of the year. If everyone is so convinced this guy wont' play, then what's the harm in bringing up Samb if you already have Max, 2012, Dice, Sheed, & Hermann

I concur Low. Davis may have the pounds and experience, but I don't think he plays unless we heaven forbid have a Yao like injury. Dress Samb now and give him those same minutes you are giving Fabio in some of these blowouts, but not just in garbage time, give it in the second qtr....He is younger and we have already seen some upside in him in that one Laker game back in November vs Bynum ...

So you would rather have an empty spot on the roster than sign him?

    No respect for Tazer.

I think he can, I think he can... :lalala:

That's my point exactly. DD isn't going to do anything for us that we couldn't get out of Samb at this point.

    In a word.....YES.

If a tazing can't put any life into that guy, nothing will.

His rebounding rate was still the same as it was when he was an all-star and his block shot rate was way higher.

I think this was purely a matter of him getting no minutes. In '05-06, he only attempted 24 shots. Kobe can do that in one half.

Absolutely! Why people think he is decrepit, I don't know. I admit he is getting up there in age, but he impresses me whenever he gets the chance and, as I recall, every time he played last year, the majority of posters here were wanting to see him given more minutes!

Don't agree. As others are suggesting, Samb isn't going to rebound as well.

Samb could possibly give us other things that DD cannot, but he's not going to box out like DD. Even if he doesn't get the rebound, DD gives our other guys a shot at it by putting a body on his man.

JD has to decide if this is worth paying for.

I liked his savvy and toughness. He may not be they guy you want popping 15 footers but he moves without the ball and if we ever manage to penetrate, he has good instincts to get to where he can by a threat.

If I was Joe, I'd just got to Sheed and ask him who he wants as a 5th big. Let Sheed make the call.

How about a 1 day open try-out? All the old dinosaurs are invited.

All players have to sit on a bench for 47:00, then sprint onto the floor and try to rip open a punching bag.

Just another random idea. What about signing a guy like Magnus Samuelson for defense, rebounding, and pick setting? He's 6'6" and 330 lbs. We know he's nimble b/c he can run faster than Nazr while carrying a 200 lb sphere of solid rock.

Don't agree. If the guy is going to be potentially 0:59 every 3 - 4 games, then the rebounding production isn't going to be leaps and bounds better for Davis. Besides Samb has clearly shown an ability to be a respectable shot blocker.

We'll still have Samb you know.

It sounds to me like the real issue is that you don't trust Flip Saunders to manage the roster. You are afraid to give him options, becuase you think he'll make the wrong selection.

My only response is, how dare you question Flip? He has more basketball knowledge in his pinky than he has in his head... er, the rest of his body... I won't get fooled again. You know what I mean.
