The funny thing is I'm afraid the Pistons aren't playing Drum and Monroe together because it doesn't mesh with the Jerebko\Singler tandem. Coach Frank would pace the sideline barefoot over broken glass before doing that.
Not much good stuff although Austin Daye had a positive outing. I think he must be working with a life coach because after he had hit those two shots, you could read his lips..."I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. And doggone it, people like me."
I read somewhere (probably @ DBB) that from all frontcourt combos possible of Max, Monroe, JJ and Drum, the one with the least PT is Monroe-Drum, even less than the JJ-Max so it seems like Frank is intentionally doing his utmost to avoid this combo. Maybe Lee has been right all along, Frank has an agenda!
Everyone always has an agenda. I suspect Frank's agenda is to win games, but what do I know. Maybe Lee is right, and 50% of NBA coaches just want to lose games and get fired.
I dont think he has an agenda...but I also dont think he has a clue. Im just watching the timeouts closely to see if he consults the magic 8ball for strategy advice.
We lose this coach if he's below.250 at the half way point.......or if he starts wearing plaid suits.
Maxiell is being showcased. He is the best trade option: expiring contract, good positionally if on the short side, hits 18 footers and does all the forwardy things except rebound. We could totally use a guy like that.
Question: What happened to the Monroe-Drummond tandem? Answer: The scouting report Too many holes in their games to work right now. Frank is cool with me, he's been dealt a really bad hand. Brandon Knight seems to get worse every game.
Well, comparing the 7 games this season to his 66 games last year: * His FG attempts are down from 11.7 to 10.1 * Points are down from 12.8 to 11.4 * His rebounding is up from 3.2 to 3.7 * Assists are up from 3.8 to 6.6 I am not going to write him off until he is at least old enough to enter a bar.
what can a scouting report tell you about a big that rebounds and moves looking for a pass? Its not like a scouting report that will tell you the player doesnt shoot well when you make him put it on the floor and drive right, or if you body him up he tends to fade away on his post shots....and what exactly can a scouting report entail after the whopping 20 total minutes theyve played together that could be so groundbreaking that our mastermind coach cant fix? BK seems to get worse because he like the rest of the starters are Pressing and every mistake is magnified because they are feeling the pressure of a 0- start.
Speaking of agendas. Why is Daye not playing? Everytime Frank has removed Daye from the rotation, it has been when the Pistons were positive, or at least neutral, while Daye was in the game. So, either Frank simply can't recognize winning basketball, or he simply is trying to avoid it. Daye is a winner, so he is not playing.
Why is Bynum always marched out there every half? Because Frank knows Bynum will lose the game. Be a loser, get playing time. Frank's formula.
Why do Knight and Monroe start along side a too short power forward, an old small forward, and a shooting guard who can't shoot the ball? Its a losing unit. So Frank likes it.
In perfect world, all employee at every level are like used toilet paper. How great that will be !! Sad that ain't no nothing perfect.
I assure you that Daye does not playing 'winning basketball'. Any appearance similar to this is certainly an illusion.
Well, it can tell you where the big prefers to get position defensively. It can tells you how he handles the pick-and-roll. It can tell you how well he boxes out. It can tell you whether he bites in up-fakes, whether he crosses his feet when going sideways, whether he gives a little upfake himself when he's putting a second shot back. It can tell you what types of shots he blocks better than others. It can tell you how to best pull him out of the lane. It can identify who he works best with, how to get leverage and move him out of the lane. To name a few.
