We still need a backup SF, because we don't know for sure whether or not the rooks can play real NBA ball, or if any of them are SF's or PF's. We still need some defensive minded players, why not ink Bruce Bowen, can't beat it for the vet min and he DEFINITELY could teach us some of his dirty defensive tricks, so if you were Joe would you go hard after Bruce Bowen?
I would rather at least give Summers/Daye a shot. Especially with the transition period this team is in. We aren't in contention, so there is no need to stall their development just to avoid a few rookie mistakes.
first, im pretty sure bowen will go to a contender. second, why not give the time to the youngsters? this is rebuild mode.
Bruce Bowen is going back to San Antonio you will see.Second our rookies showed a lot of potenial,so why give the minutes to an old guy who won't get any better, when you have 2 great rookies who can be very good players.
I honestly think that Daye, Summers and Jeberko will finish 1,2 & 3 in the ROY voting. No way am I impeding their progress in any way shape or form.
I wonder who's going to be 4th in ROY voting...Maybe that other guy we drafted and traded to Houston..
Picking up a defensive-minded veteran is a good idea, but signing Bowen would only make sense if the Pistons traded Prince.
I don't think it's a good idea at all. That will leave the team without the starting SF, as I am not sure that our draft picks are ready to step in to that extent. Now, I'm sure Bowen could teach our youngsters a trick or two on the defensive end, and how to injure an opposing star player, while looking like just playing aggressive D.
Notice I said "his" M. Curry...meaning his version of M. Curry. You can have 2 things that are similar in relation to different subjects, yet not have those things be equivalent to each other. Hence, Bowen is probably one of the least talented members of that roster and hardly responsible for their winning tradition, yet praised for being a defensive specialist and "hard worker" a la M. Curry. See, it all comes out in the wash.
