A lot depends on how quickly Gores wants to move after the CBA contract. If he moves quickly than a wholesale move before the start of the season seems likely.

Administrative-wise, there is no doubt that Q is gone.

Gores might take three approaches toward JD:
    • Give due diligence to his reputation and myth status in Detroit. This means keeping him for one more year as a buffer for traditionalism, especially if he goes the wholesale player move.
    • Using the tacit talent JD has for player abilities. This will be off-set from Gores management team and it is exactly what JD needs to balance his lack of communication and petulance for isolated decision making.
    • Gores will start out big. With new coach in hand and a GM that knows the league players, he will spend. Yep, from his end, it is all money. There is no reason that with additional players and keeping Stuckey and Monroe, you are at least approach .500 next year. The selective talent is within reach and out there.

It is possible Gores will interview Dumars and ask him what Joe wants to do with this team, where they stand, etc.

In other words, assess the initiative and ambition of his GM.

That makes sense. It seems like a new owner would want to closely assess everything about his organization....assuming he hasn't already.

If/when it gets to that point, I hope Joe resigns before he gets fired.

    For the truncated second time!

I will not repeat what was lost when I switched taps in IE 9. I will stand with my original opinion about the two year time-frame. Justification will not follow a rather long bullet point why this might be so.

Anyway, when you are in a certain flow, you just don't remember good rules: Control A, then Control C. Pretty dumb on my part.

    So it goes.

Joe Dumars: Good news on the coaching search. I've found the Phil Jackson of Checkoslovakia.

Tom Gores: Let's bring in Phil Jackson.

Actually, it was a tricky search since the thread title didn't include the words Joe, Dumars, or fired.

You can also do a Google search and then add this at the end:

    site:pistonsforum.com

I use this when I can't find something through the forum search.

    The word "poll" didn't help.
Another example of me not knowing completely what I was doing.
"Who Long does JD Last" just noticed that.
