I just read a comment on ESPN from a Detroit fan that was interesting and gives me a little big of hope for the playoffs this year.

If Orlando grabs the top seed and we get the 8th seed, then our road to the ECF will be ORL + ATL.

While I think we'd be a big underdog to both those teams, it is at least possible that it can be done. It sounds a lot better than meeting BOS or CLE on the road for a first round knock-out.

This plan relies on ORL actually getting the top spot and Det being able to jockey for the 8th spot, which could be difficult to actually pull off.

At least it's something. Once we get to the ECF, we're only 4 sprained ankles away from the ship! (KG, Pierce, Kobe, Gasol).

    Speculation and hope.......

But then on this side of the map, the Jazz wind up with an ez path to the WCF, and because of the Kobe and Gasol ankle issue, they face us in the finals and we fold to Memo and Deron like always...

24 - 19, we are close to becoming .500 team
the only good thing this team had was beating the good teams..Now we are just losing them all as well ( dallas, houston..)

We are not looking good for the playoffs. Just checked some stats. Detroit is the only team, currently seeded to be in the playoffs, with a negative point differential.

We are ranked 21st by Hollinger.

To date, we've had the easiest schedule in the NBA, and we probably have the toughest schedule coming up.

We could easily go 4-12 in our next 16 games before the break, which would put us 3 below .500.

Don't look now but after the Heat beat the Hawks tonight, Miami is now tied with us for the 5th spot.

So its not about trying to wrestle the 4th spot and first round HC advantage from the inconsistent-but-ahead-us Hawks, but its now about trying to stay out of the sixth spot....unless Joe and MC are purposely backsliding and putting our faith in playing and beating the third seeded Magic???:stirthepot:

Those 2 Milwaukee games look a lot easier now. We need every win we can get coming up.

I think I've learned by now with this team to never assume any win is "easy".

Is it to early to say that every game is a must win now? Or can we afford to throw away a few more???:reading:

For the 8th spot, we can coast for while. Our schedule gets easy at the end, so we can just turn on the switch if we need to at that point.

Well.. i do think we should win a bunch now. Then, if Orlando looks like it is somehow going to come up with the top-seed, we might want to turn off the switch (or turn on the lose switch, or keep it on -- whatever) so as to gracefully drift into the 8th spot.
