I posted an article a few weeks ago about a 7 year old basketball phenom. I think the article raised alot of questions about how hard parents push their children, and about the positive values of competition. Here's a local story from my new home town. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003151322_websealth25.html There are many links in the article if you want to follow the whole story. It basically boils down to the fact that several coaches recruited talented junior HS girls to come play at their High School. They faked a few leases to make it appear as if the little girls were in the school district. I don't know that there is much money to be made in the WNBA, so I assume that parents would go along with this idea because this may be a much better or higher regarded school than the ones the girls would normally attend. Their are magnet schools for the arts and sciences, so why not sports? Isn't this the same thing that Detroit Country Day does?
