    3/11 update

    11. Toronto (25/39) (3-7)
    10. Philadelphia (23/39) (1-9)
    9. Detroit (23/42) (2-8)
    8. Minnesota (21/39) (2-8)
    7. Phoenix (22/41) (5-5)
    6. New Orleans (22/42) (3-7)
    5. Sacramento (22/43) (3-7)
    4. Cleveland (21/42) (5-5)
    3. Washington (20/41) (5-5)
    2 .Orlando (18/46) (3-7)
    1. Charlotte (13/50) (0-10)

Cleveland jumps three spots, everyone between moves up one, and the Pistons stay the same. On the plus side, though, Detroit is one game closer to Phoenix, New Orleans, Sacramento, and Washington. They're also playing terrible, which bodes well for their lottery chances.

Lottery-wise, The Calderon trade could be a bed one.

The Calderon trade has made the Pistons much worse (turns out they were better with Daye off the bench and they really miss Prince's leadership), so Lottery-wise, it should help tremendously.

LOL at the use of the words "Prince" and "leadership" in the same sentence.

This team went from sucky to suckier with the loss of Drummond.

Take Cleveland out of the list of "Teams that can end up with a better record than us, allowing us to get more balls in the Lottery Draft"

Irving is out for 3-4 weeks with a shoulder sprain or something like that.

(Out of topic: Wouldn't you be concerned about your star player getting injured that much?? he only played 49 games thus far...)

I'll start to root for Minnesota, New Orleans and Phoenix to Win games... since NOW!

Calderon made this team better. Drummond's injury destroyed it.

This is true. I didn't realize how much of an impact Drummond had on that mediocre second unit until I got to see it flail without him.

Also, Tay (our glue) and Daye (our runaway +/- leader) are gone. Too much change at once to really see what effect each guy had, but Drummond's absence surely dwarfs the others. He was our best player after all. Even Bynum is struggling without him.

The 2-headed three point attack mechanism is no longer there and it wouldn't work anyway without Drummond taking all the attention in the middle and gobbling up the misses.

The biggest shame is that we will end this season with no real idea of how Monroe and Drummond play together.

    It's almost criminally negligent.

But I'd read some posts here in this forum that some fans prefer to have AD plays over GM.

Another 3 or 4 more consecutive losses and the Pistons will be in the TOP 3 conversation.

I think they are just saying that if they had to pick one (which they don't), they would take Drummond due to his impactfulness.

If Drummond comes back this year, you'd have to imagine that he will be severely limited, and rightly so.

They've got a great idea what Singler can do though.

Hasn't Calderon played on quite a few bad, bad teams? Maybe he just has the funk? He's funny looking also. It's a little disconcerting watching him.

Yes, I think that we can be very certain that Singler and Maxiell would make adequate bench players. It's nice to finally establish that.

I second impactfulness. It's less beneficial than superstartiveness, but more players have it.

The loss of Dre has killed us. There were a lot of games where he was the best player on the floor for 20 minutes or so. That means something. JC's biggest weakness has always been giving up penetration, something which Dre's presence would mitigate. On the plus side, it looks like Middleton might be a perfect replacement for Daye. Besides, we want to lose as many games as possible at this point.

Hopefully, we can see Dre, Moose, JC, and Knight all playing together for 4-5 games.
