I'm more worried about Lindsey cutting into our score than anybody's minutes.
A fair assessment.
I have no problem with that but you are panicking due to the ___________?
a) 10 game winning streak?
b) very easy stretch run for the team from mid March on?
c) Knock on Wood, perfect health of the team
d) Amir and Stuckey getting time finally?
c) big 3 pistons coming out of the all star break healthy?
No I am just panicking because that is what I want to do, plus the thought of Hunter becoming the 1st guard off of the bench again.
I think it is safe to assume that if Hunter had been the 1st guard off of our bench for the last 10 games that we wouldn't have a 10 game winning streak right now.
he can help stabalize things at times if you throw him out there with Stuckey/Amir/Max.
A bit like what Sheed was doing with the bench
Think of how much they could run if LH was generating TO's with Stuckey and Amir at the ready to run.
Just replace Hayes with Afflalo at the 3 for our high energy- steals lineup.
Yeah, but like I said, there's no evidence that anyone is thinking of making him the first guard off the bench once he's back on the active list.
Yea, but Buddah likes to believe the sky is falling whenever possible. If you read between the lines carefully in that story, McCosky also states that Larry Brown will be taking over the team for the playoffs, Ben Wallace will be traded for Rasheed Wallace, and Hooper will be replaced by a team of sled dogs.
It's traditional for veterans to be given a chance to fail before rookies are given a chance to succeed, sometimes repeated chances.
This promotes good locker room chemistry.
It's better to create "your own world" than doin' nuttin'
I saw this coming a few weeks ago. I predicted that Hunter would be phased back into the line-up in mid March; ...and the doom and gloomers would be out in full force.
Relax dudes! - Lindsey is a ROLE player.
And one of the best on-ball defenders in "the association" to boot!
He'll be a situational guy that will come in when defense is needed to cool down a hot scorer and/or throw some traps at a team. He's not gonna be the first guard off of the bench, is he Flip? ....ummmm, uhhhh Flip?
I like this idea as long as he's not the first guard off the bench, like many stated. I wouldn't have a problem with him if he took the majority of Afflalo's minutes and it was just Hunter and Stuckey coming off the bench, with Afflalo seeing spot minutes. I think it would work good with Stuckey playing point and Lindsay playing the two guard much like Afflalo does right now. They both have the same game with Lindsay being a veteran. Plus this is his last year, so it's not like he's gonna be hurting Afflalo too much. We'll see how it works out. I just hope Flip doesn't use Hunter as the first guard off the bench, and I don't think he will. Flip has been coaching great lately.
Tell me its not true.
Couldn't care less what order he comes into the game as long as Stuckey's, and to a lesser degree, Afflalo's mins remain fairly similar and consistent to what they have been. Perhaps he can help shave another 1 to 2 mins off of Tay, Rip and C$ time.
You know, it is possible to do sometin' in "the real world".
Hunter is my favorite player.
I too love "old man river" but the plus minus since the 05' season is not pretty.
Hunter in street clothes tonight. Nice thread, Buddahfan.
Seriously though. Love the guy but I thought he should have retired. But who knows he did have that one good game earlier so maybe he can help. Afflalo did not make a good case for himself last night, Hunter would have scored at least 1 point in 20 mins.
Now I'm starting to worry. I think Hunter is essential to our playoff success. He is the only one we have who can stop quick, penetrating guards like Rondo.
