I know this isn't a "sexy trade" but, what do you think?

    ESPN.com - NBA - Trade Machine Results

We could do a trade with New York.

Trade Antonio McDyess & Amir Johnson for Eddy Curry & David Lee.

Eddy Curry could be a solid fit with the Pistons. Cury needs to play on a good defensive team. He's a 20 & 6 guy in 2007 who could be better with the right team.

David Lee is a good player & rebounder. I'd love to have him on the Pistons.

I think this is a very good trade without trading any of the "core".
Resign Hunter, Ratliff & for the veteran’s minimum.
Sign Herrmann & Matt Barnes to small 2 year deals w/ a team option in the 2nd year.

    Billups/Stuckey/Hunter
    Rip/Afflalo/Barnes
    Prince/Herrmann/Sharpe
    Sheed/Max
    Curry/Lee/Samb/Ratliff

    Sharpe - D-Leauge
Hunter & Ratliff - Bench 'till needed

Would NY want to go through with this?

NY would never do this. I like David Lee, but I don't think he's worth taking on a guy like Curry.

    Hey O.

McDyess would likely retire before going to play in New York. I think he's only in the game today because Dumars talked him into sticking around with the squad based on the opportunity to get a ring. He doesn't need the money and I'd be amazed if he agreed to go to the big rotten apple for no other reason than to play out the last year on his deal.

My definition of a sexy trade includes at least one cheerleader.

By the way, I just ran across this for all those folks who forgot that Eddy Curry is fat and slow. And sucks.

Man I posted this trade already. And the reality is, it's a risk I would take. Curry can play, he has talent, the problem is when you're actually banking on him. But give him 20 mpg and he will get you 12&6. Now, if he's coming off the bench as our 2nd string center, I like the sound of those numbers.

Leave Amir out of all trade proposals. Amir is the future of the Pistons

I would trade Amir in a heart beat for about 50 or 60 players. He still has great upside, but he's no Kevin Garnett (thus far).

I would trade Amir in a heartbeat for about 120 or 130 players. He still has a great upside, but he's no Kevin Garnett (ever).

So far he's just a more athletic Darko. All hype with limited bite and a foul magnet.

Good point, instead of hating on YKW, we should appreciate Joe's very complicated/detailed/intricate/G-14 classified scheme to get Rodney Stuckey...........GENIUS!!!!!!!

You've got to be kidding me, trade Amir?!?! You don't just stumble upon undersized players without one offensive move everyday.

    I don't think Amir is undersized for a 4.

I agree that he could diversify his portfolio of posts moves a bit though. He's heavily weighted in 'dunk' and only has a smattering of 'awkward but effective hook' and 'faceup J.'

I wouldn't trade AJ for too many other "Niners" (9th men) in the league.

...I heard a rumor that Amir is even changing his number to 9 next season. :)

How about Sheed for those two ?

Didn't Garnet make Sheed look fat and slow?
