What would that do? I don't think they'd trade him this year. Looks like he may be traded in the offseason or the next year. Minni is not going to spend the money, so they're not going to compete in the near future.
We have another 6 games against the Twins...all in the last few weeks of the regular season...with the likelihood that we'll see Santana 2 more times in what looks to be a tight race all the way. A trade before the deadline would have likely sent him to the NL...meaning we wouldn't see him at all.
The Tigers are 3-1 against the Twins this year when Santana pitches. I think the Tigers will have at least one more season to face him as a Twin, though.
Heck with Santana.............He'll be gone from the Twins soon enough when he signs his next contract. The real problem is how many Tigers will be gone when their contracts are up.????

Most of the roster is signed for at least 3 more years, so nothing to worry about for the foreseeable future.
