An interesting article about the possibilities that exist for Rip Hamilton with a Gordon signing that is pretty imminent.

Rip may in fact be a very good fit in Utah.

I think he would be a better fit in Toronto :)

    I can dream right?

If not, I can see a trade for Kaman or some center...:gun1:

For Joe to even target Gordon, it doesn't make since unless he is planning on dealing Rip for a big man and he already has a deal in the works. I mean to keep both would mean that Gordon would be our best scorer off the bench since Vinny Johnson, but as the article says we are not going to pay Ben this kind of money to come off the bench.

Come on Joe give us clue of what you are doing this summer

    New Orleans

    Rip for Tyson Chandler
    NBA Trade Machine - ESPN
Gives NOH a little extra Cap Space relief(about $500,000) that they so desperately need, a good backcourt of Rip+CP3, and it gives us a good young Center.

Didn't see your calculations, but I just don't like a Rip for Tyson deal straightup with Chandlers injury issues. Does New Orleans still own the rights to Pargo?? I would take him and Chandler for Rip. or maybe even a beat up mo pete??

If Gordon is signed, then I have to believe Joe has a trade for Rips in the works.

To me Joe has really had a jones to play small ball or at least 3 guards. It wouldn't surprise me at all if ke kept both.

Do you guys think Toronto would do a Richard Hamilton and Jason Maxiell for Chris Bosh type deal? It works salary wise.

Maybe later on during the season if they know they can't re-sign the guy. They may be able to get more in a sign-and-trade next year.

And why would Toronto go through with this?

No way in hell, Toronto needs a big and they won't trade Bosh for Hamilton/Max. Bosh in Toronto is like Kobe in L.A, that's how much the organization values him.

My thought too. Bosh is one of the premier power forwards in the league and won't be traded without getting back some kind of equal value unless the team is desperate.

Charlie V and Rip for Bosh plus a scrub. Start Kwame at center Sign McDyess.

    That leaves Pistons with

    Bosh
    Kwame
    McDyess
    Maxiel

Dice will have to play the 5 but only as reserve. Or Maybe toronto can throw in a crappy 5. That leaves us with more fouls to give from that position.

It just hit me, what if Rip stays and plays the 3, and it's Tay that's sent packing????? Think about this, Utah starts CJ Miles at the SF spot (that's just plain sad), Sending Tay to Utah for Boozer will save them about $2M and Tay only has 2 years left on his contract. What if this lineup hits the Floor:

    Stuck / Bynum
    Gordon / AA
    Rip / Rooks / AA
    Kwame / Scrub Vet
    Boozer / Charlie V
............hmmmmmmmm. We've talked about how Gordon is an upgrade over Rip at SG, but wouldn't Rip be an upgrade over Tay at SF?

Utah can't afford Tay's contract as they're trying to sign Millsap. Also, Rip would be pushed around at SF.
