It's possible that we don't even trade Prince/Hamilton.
they can afford tay and milsap if they trade Boozer. But Rip guarding Lebron!? thats laughable.
Tay is only $2.4 mil below Boozer for the upcoming season and before signing Millsap Jazz are already over the cap. So they can't afford to have both Tay and Millsap.
Its possible that they could do a sign/trade with one of the teams and dump salary to persue Lee or Milsap. Maybe even trade for Boozer.
He will be traded for a young, mediocre big and some guy with a contract nearly as bad.
Tay at the 4 worked out far better than Rip at the 3.
Prince and Rip for Bosh... I'd do it in a heartbeat.
This is Joe's Waterloo. He has to find a taker for Rip, and get something back. He cant do what the Clips did by trading "ZBo for Q"
We need value, otherwise, this team is destined to be a 1st round exit in the playoffs for the the foreseeable future.
Yeah but I thought Bosh wanted out of Toronto?
Folks you've gotta watch this stuff, it's going to get VERY interesting!!!! Hedo will be the next to sign and will have a ripple effect.
I'm thinking that Hedo signs with Portland, if so Tor is screwed - because they have no SG or SF AT ALL!!!! We could give them (Tor) Rip for a 2nd rd pick. That move would put us back up to around $17M in cap space.
Back to Portland, they now have a huge Logjam at SF - so somebody has got to go. Port will need to get rid of 2 of the following - Webster, Outlaw, Batum or Rudy. Let's say they decide on Webster and Outlaw. With our $17Mill we could do a 3 team trade, where:
Utah gets Outlaw and saves over $8M in cap space enough to sign Millsap.
PISTONS get Boozer & Webster
Port gets Maxiel, they chop $3.3M off the cap and clear up theSF logjam and get a decent backup PF in Max.
PG: Stuckey / Bynum
SG: Ben G / AA
SF: Tay / Webster / Rooks
PF: Boozer / Charlie V
C: Kwame / Scrub Free Agent Veteran.
This is what I've been fantasizing about all night. It's doubtful that they'd trade away one of the best young big men in the league, but given his recent unwillingness to stay with Toronto, this at least nets them two all-star caliber players.
And it took how many endless threads for someone to state the obviousness of the situation.
Pass if I was half as smart as you, it would double my IQ.
That would be completely unacceptable and I would drop my seasons tickets if I had them.
The commonenenest knowledge in the world.
We didn't pay a dude 55 effing million effing dollars to come off the bench. Eff that.
It's obvious he'll be traded for someone who can fill the void at the center position, Chandler or Kaman are the first that come to mind.
Also, is it possible to trade CV for Bosh?
Yea, Joe has made some questionable moves lately, but I don't think there is any way possible he could rationalize paying a guy that much money to come off the bench. He's not going to create the same problem as last year when the coach had to "disrespect" one of his main players, by benching them during crunch time.
Rip has played his last game as a Piston, and Joe already has something lined up.
As much as I would love that, no.
how about a Rip/Tay for Okafor/G. Wallace + May (filler) swap ?
I know it's a long shot, but that would be sweet.
Charlotte gets a huge upgrade at SG, and trades an ironman SF for an often injured one. Plus, LB would love to be reunited with two members of the 2004 team.
And the Bobcats would have some cash to spend in 2011 when Tay expires.
They become Augustin/Rip/tay/Diaw/Nazr. A team like that has a good chance to grab a playoff spot in the East.
Solid 10 man rotation. Okafor and Wallace would compensate some of the defensive weaknesses of the other 3 starters and the offense would be good enough.
And maybe Joe D could hire Jim Calhoun to coach that All-Huskies team
i do that deal without thinking twice. Not sure that Charlotte does thought.
