LB has no interest in Tay.
Why do you say that?
Tay plays "the right way".
Even when desparate. Think about what it took for the Celtics to pry KG away from Minnesota. The Raptors would be looking to get a similar pay day.
So did Toni Kukoc.
Just take my word for it.
He did do exactly that during brief stretches during this year's 1st round embarrassment. Tell me, do you really think he did that much worse than Tay? At least he wasn't distracted by LeBron's muscles.
Maxiell may be our best LeBron stopper at the moment.
Its a five year deal,,,who says Gordon has to start from game one? Gordon can come off the bench this season if push come to shove. He can still play 25-30 minutes a game depending on what Stuckey and Rip are doing. read> having a bad day at the office. Vinny Johnson could have started for some teams but did his job off the bench for the bad boys for you old schoolers who remember the good old days.
I am still worried about our paint defense so I concerned when both Gordon and Stuckey are in there at the same time. The big will have to a bid defensive presence to make up for their shortcomings and Tays' defense gets worse as the season progresses.
We do need another big so either Tay or Rip will have to be moved. Tyson Chandler looks like an obvious choice. (Should have got him in an S & T for Ben 3 years ago). We could add another UCONN guy by sending Tay to the Bobcats for Okafor whose numbers last year were better than Chandler, but why would LB do that??
As decent as these pickups were, we still only move up to 5th in the seeding order if Joe's only remaining move after this is signing Dice....
And that IMO would be a coup!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if this has been posted:
HornetsReport.com | Forums - Pistons interested in Chandler?
Not sure who that other expiring would be. If NO doesn't take Rip or Tay I don't think it's possible to get this done unless I've missed someone.
Agreed, Tay didn't do any better than Rip on the defensive side. The fact is, no one can really stop/guard Lebron/Kobe, but only make their job harder. I think Pietrus did a good job vs the Cavs and we need that type of player.
It makes sense (for them not us) that they'd want Giant Turd.
...Wouldn't we be left with one Center again?
What are we gonna do, sign some combo of Kelvin Cato and/or Elden Campbell for the vet minimum?
Interesting how good they think Maxiel is. But if we sent Kwame $4.1M + Maxiel ($5M) that totals $9.1M, which saves NewOrl's $2.5M, doesn't help them get far enough under.
Understand folks, NewOrl's is about anywhere from $6-$8M over the Lux Cap as of today, before signing a draft pick, or a free agent with the MLE. They are trying to dump salaries BIG TIME!!!!!
Kwame is off the books next year. And I believe that Chandler has a player option for 1 more season after this.
