    1) He should've drafted one of the PG's (like I said ~ T. Burke).
    2) He should've signed A. Iguodala (like I said ~ and he could've had he, like I said, amnestied C. Villanueva, bought out R. Stuckey, not made that stupid B. Jennings trade, and not wasted a bunch of $$$ on C. Billups, W. Bynum and G. Datome).
    3) He should've hired a real coach (like I said ~ J. Sloan).

I'd have picked this team to beat the Heat in a series.

    C: A. Drummond, S. Kravtsov
    PF: G. Monroe, T. Mitchell, J. Jerebko
    SF: J. Smith, K. Middleton
    SG: A. Iguodala, K. Singler
    PG: T. Burke, B. Knight, P. Siva

***ALSO*** Giannis Antetokounmpo is #5 on the NBA Rookie Ladder (MCW-1, Burke-2, KCP-nr). Rookie Ladder | NBA.com

I doubt that roster competes for a title, even if you have been saying it ALL off-season.

Friend, no one can predict the future. We can guess, and we can feel good about our guesses, but guessing is not precognition.

The draft pick is something you can legitimately second guess. Saying that Andre Iguodala would have signed with the Pistons or that Jerry Sloan would have taken the Pistons job are extreme reaches, at best.

    Blue is 20/20.

I personally would have gone about it that way too, but if I had total control over the team, we'd be going for a ten-peat.

That starting lineup would somehow be even LESS efficient of a shooting team than the one we have now. It still doesn't address the issue of the lack of three-point shooters, it doesn't address Smith's lack of fit at SF, and does it with a coach that wouldn't have any actual interest in coming here.

Why not trade our expirings for a superstar? Only someone with less than half a brain would pick Smith over LeBron/Durant or Burke over Paul.

It's nice to see the L recognizing Middleton's 3 pt ability even though his % isn't up there unlike his stupid coaches.

If I was GM (and I've said it a bunch), I would have kept Middleton, signed Calderon, Korver, and Iguodala, and run out a lineup of Calderon/Iguodala/Korver/Monroe/Drummond. Then I would have hired Stan Van Gundy and been one of the best inside-out teams in the league, defense be damned.

I'm complacent with Jennings, but I wouldn't have made the move for him (I probably wouldn't have thought of it). He still takes too many ill-advised shots and the ball has a tendency to stop moving around when it gets to him near the end of games. That being said, he's still young and has made big-time strides so far this year, so I'm trying to stay optimistic.

Oh, we're going to play the 20/20 game? COOL!!!! Overall I think Joe did pretty well over the summer. I don't think we can fully gauge Joe's moves until after the upcoming trade deadline.

Know one had an opportunity to become complacent, because the board had little movement in reference that he was on the block. At least 75% of deals are between tacit, horizontal agreements (GM's only) and they shift toward the sand dunes on personal intra-contacts. This, as Gores knows, is JD's strength. Jennings came aboard because he was part of a dual (Monte Ellis at 6.3"_age 28) combo (Jennings 6.1"_age 24) that canceled each other out because of youth, mature longevity, positional team strength by ball placement and the demands of tightened leadership level (via agents) that provided each to find some way to accelerate their careers. Both of the latter wanted out. If Hammond learned only one thing from exposures at GM levels: he who is dissatisfied and wants out, is soon gone. Hammond struck a good deal with JD, if only that the bottom line give him some extra time for other maneuvers. A latter bargain was struck with youth and some experience along with positions that needed to be filled. With each, nether would embarrass him or the coach. This was smart, because in the beginning of war zones, you need to have flexibility that youth provides via energy. Your flanks
should and will require maturity and concentration. In the end, you will have many surprises.
