A Hard-Hitter Newly-Drafted Lions LB Ernie Sims is a Tough Player who Loves to Hit By Chuck Klonke Detroitlions.com April 29, 2006 ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Most NFL draft picks wouldn't take pride in being able to outrun their mother. But most mothers aren't former track stars like the mother of Ernie Sims, the Florida State linebacker who was the Lions' first pick in the 2006 draft. As Alice Bennett, she ran the 100-meter dash, the 4x100 relay and long jumped for Florida State's track team. She still holds the school record in the long jump. We lost Kosier to FA. So I think this Olinemen will see some action early. Even though he's not ready. From what I've seen i'm ready for Sims and Bull to start.
Thanks Roscoe Every year it's the same ol' spin... media & managment won't bring up the negatives (there is a couple minor references in this article)... For local fans to get a true picture we need to go beyond local reports... Examples: Sims has a tendency to overaract and gets caught out of position. Bollocks is not much of a hitter (contrary to what this report says). Calhound has trouble shaking tackles. Just showing the rest of the story.
Now now Scoe, when the stew gets to smellin' real good, you like to add the spices. Especially if it envolves something Canada.
Nice articles roscoe. Hard to keep up with the lions while concentrating on the pistons and tigers. I like the guy Matua, he may be the surprise of the draft. Most samoans are pretty tough players.
