I don't know if he's worth that much though. Now Orlando has Lewis and Turkoglu and lost their best big man.

I'm not even sure Michael Jordan was worth $120 million dollars.

I didn't know we were allowed to say f'n on the forum but I agree with J Train...no f'n way. Otis Smith didn't plan things out well. He may not have thought he had a realistic shot at Lewis?

I think this puts the Chauncey contract in perspective.

You would think that a team that had just gotten out from under the Grant Hill contract would show a little more restraint.

This is what I'm talking about, right 'chere. Great Franchise player in Dwight Howard....has the talent to rule the league for years.... Piston fans begin to lose hope because we don't have a player that good, and that dominant.....but wait there's hope, in the form of stupid GM's like Smith. Dwight Howard will be the next KG, champion type potential, but a bonehead for a GM.

Without Darko to prop up Howard's game it will go into the tank at Disney World.

As long as he scores 33% of their points and plays defense like Bruce Bowen, this is going to work out very well for the Magic.

Was there another team out there willing to pay him a similar #? There must have been, right?

We don't know that for sure. Maybe Orlando was going all out to make sure they get the guy.

All players are over paid period. Back in the day Zeke made like 3 million a year and that was on the high end as a star player. Now bench warmers make 4 to 5 million a season. It is a joke. It is another reason why professional sports is not what it used to be. A lot of these players are not in it for the love of the game. Once they get the cash they are not motivated to work or improve there game. They are not willing to work hard.

It is not a matter of if Shard is worth it. If someone is stupid enough to pay it then.........

    Isiah's salaries.........the last six years.......
    88-89....1.1 mil
    89-90....1.9 mil
    90-91....2.7 mil
    91-92....2.9 mil
    92-93....2.3 mil
    93-94....2.5 mil

Previous to that, he made less than 1 million per season.........

    Is he worth it? No.

Consider the source, the Magic have to overpay to get someone to play there.

They locked themselves up with Lewis just like they locked themselves up with Hill before. That's why Pistons let Ben go. That's why Seattle let Lewis go. You don't mortgage your team's future to sign one player unless he's Shaq or LBJ caliber player.

I could not say it any better myself. His salary is in the ballpark of 4,000 dollars a minute, im lucky to break that a month

Orlando has an idiot curse. Draft great players and overpay in free agency

Then see great players leave for free agency.

Just stupid. Orlando will be in Cap heck for the foreseeable future. They still don't have a pg. They still don't have a center. And they still don't have a sg. And now, they don't have the money or parts to trade for help, unless they trade Dwight or Lewis.

And the dumbest, dumbest move was letting Darko go, in one of the best drafts in the past few years, without getting anything in return. If they knew the were risking everything Lewis, they should have traded Darko for a pick.

Orlando will not make the playoffs next year. Lewis couldn't do it with Ray Allen, no reason to think he can do it with Dwight.

What's Isiah getting paid now? A ton.

What was the price of gas in 1988? $0.80 maybe?

    That's almost 20 years ago!

What % each year is the salary cap raised, and by how much does it exceed inflation?
