He was never untouchable, because Joe Dumars said, "There is no sacred cows in this team, Everyone is in Play!"

Two biggest rumors last summer was Tay +filler to Denver for Melo.

    AND

Tay + filler to ATL for Josh Smith.

With that uber tiny luggage of his, it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
Back on topic: Prince hasn't been 'untouchable' for a long time now. heck, I'd say he's 'most touchable'. :sssh:

We may have gotten to the point where he is untouchable to the other 29 teams.

Lot of other guys I'd let go before him but what do we have to work with now, not much. He or Rip may be the only two any other team would want. How did we go from perennial contenders in the East to also rans.

Oh I know, Chauncy Billups. Ridiculous ridiculous trade.

When I heard that they were talking about getting Iverson I though that would be interesting who for? When they said Billups I almost choked on my gum.

Look at what we've become. Billups killing it as per usual in the finals, Iverson killing us!

So many rumors about Prince last summer that he had to be on the block. Just could not pull the right deal.

On CB. As rehashed I don't know how many times. The Nuggets were trying to win now and the Pistons were trying to win later. So it makes sense from that standpoint.

With that said if CB is still bringing it at age 35 and Stuckey never works out then I will be pissed. But we were not going to win it this year with how bad our frontcourt and coaching has been.

IMHO...we needed a talented base of players (Prince was a part of that) and a good coach to attract quality free agents. Now...it seems we have neither. Looks he may be gone and we build from scratch.

Salaries match for a Bosh<->Prince+Amir trade, but only if Toronto felt like doing the Pistons a favor. There would be better offers for Toronto if they start shopping Bosh.

Back to dreaming mode. Say the above trade goes through. We let Sheed and AI walk. Sign Dice to a veteran's contract (if he chooses to stay), and with the cap space we go and sign Artest.

    We have the SL of:
    Stuckey, Rip, Artest, Bosh, Kwame

That would give a decent mixture of offense/defense. For tougher D, you use the Bynum, Afflalo back court.

    Bench:
    Bynum, Afflalo, Sharpe/Herrmann, JMax, Dice

We'll probably need to get another young PF/C. Maybe Wilcox.

If we trade Amir...we are done for....

That being said...Prince lost his ability to be "untouchable" the minute he ducked.

Throw Boozer in there and we'll have an All-Star lineup.

    For the sake of imagination:

    PG: Stuckey, Bynum
    SG: Hamilton, Afflalo
    SF: Artest, Hermann, Sharpe
    PF: Boozer, Dice, JMax
    C: McDyes, Kwame

First off I apologize for my comments yesterday.

Secondly, if Prince was EVER viewed as "untouchable," then Joe Dumars' receding competency and failure to evaluate NBA talent is more becoming more clear to me... MUCH less of a mystery.

Not really interested in anything that the Raptors can offer, besides Bosh and Calderon.

He will be serviceable as trade bait. He's now a basket-case and the best potential to further his career would to get out of Detroit.

West coast would be best for him.
