C-Bill goes off in the first quarter helping the Pistons dominate the Bulls so the officials make sure to take him out with 2 fouls.

C-Bill averages 2.2 fouls a game for his career.

Got to keep the audience tuned in on a Friday night.

And some actually believe that the NBA isn't controlled by the Media.

    :hoops:

They can get crocked after every game if they keep playing like this.

If they keep calling the series in the same fashion, they are going to steal some games from Pistons. Sorry, I don't have the conspiracy theory going, but it sure did look like as soon as Pistons pulled away all the calls got Chicago's way. All of the out of bounds calls and fouls in the 2nd quarter went to Chicago. Bulls didn't get called for a foul in the 2nd until 30 seconds to go in the quarter while Pistons already had 7 on them at that time. Lets just hope Pistons can keep their composure the same way they did in this game and just keep winning. The refs will not be a reason if Pistons lose the series.

Got to love Mike Trico the ABC play by play guy covering the Nets-Cavs game today for his forthright if not to subtle honesty. At least he is honest about how crooked the NBA is.

Honestly I was shocked to hear that he would actually admit it while broadcasting the game with his not to subtle allusion to:

"James is the only NBA glamour star left in the playoffs so it is in the NBAs best interest to keep him going in the playoffs as long as possible"

"We look forward to seeing James in the Finals"

    Funny stuff.

    Who runs the NBA?

    ABC runs the NBA.

Hey, Buddah, we know it is all about the $$$. Who cares about the integrity or the fans? People are still coming to the games, right? So why wouldn't they promote what makes money even if it means sacrificing everything else? Isn't that what corporate America is all about anyways?

Are you implying David Vince McMahon Stern might be controlling the marionettes?

It wouldn't shock me at all.

Kinda like how Mark Cuban got the trophy pulled away from him at the last second last year???

It was like when you would turn on "auto catch up" or whatever it is on the old school video games. Like NBA Jamz and then you could NEVER keep a lead no matter what. :pound:

Saying that LeBron would help ABC's ratings is a HUGE leap to fixing games. It's just not happening.

You have to look at the size of the Markets also.

NJ vs LeBron is basically a wash.

I'm not saying this is happening, but I am saying I'd be fairly shocked if it wasn't.

Look at the Miami vs Detroit game 5 in 05, we got completely rammed by the refs because they were desperately trying to keep Miami alive after Wade went down.

    The best example ever was

Philly vs Milwaukee in 01. Mutumbo had 6 fouls in the entire 7 game series vs Milwaukee.

Mutumbo fouls out in the first game vs the Lakers. I know it's Shaq, but COME ON.

Think the league wanted Tiny ass Milwaukee, or the whole Eastern Seaboard watching????? Tough call I know.

I'm not sure this theory can account for how San Antonio has won 3 'ships, including two where they beat the Kobe/Shaq Lakers in the playoffs. Obviously the NBA wants the highest TV ratings they can get, and we all know that superstars tend to get calls, but fixing an entire series because of ratings is a little on the far-fetched side to me.

    Correct.

I was thinking how much would ABC, the NBA and the NBA players lose if the Finals this year were Utah and the Pistons as opposed to Cleveland and Phoenix?

Tens of millions discounted over the value of this current and future TV contracts.

I think the merchandisers have more control than the media...
Bron gets a huge bonus from Nike if he ends up playing in the NY market (more exposure for them).... if he goes guess who wins more games?

I think the NBA determining who wins is a bunch of crock.
