Yes! A good way to compete for a high pick in the 2010 lottery.
If we are able to make the playoffs with this line up, we still won't get out of the first round. We will need more than a rookie in Clark and a FA in Boozer, but if that is it, then lets hope they win enough games to show some potential to attract a bigger fish in 2010.
I would have big concerns about that front-line. I'm OK with a Boozer signing, but if he gets injured then we only have two bigs. Where did Amir go? Are you assuming he is traded for cap-space? Looks like Trent Plaisted would have to come back from Europe.
I didn't see Trent Plaisted listed there.
What up wit dat?!?
Thin up front, but I assume Amir is hiding behind someone. If Stuckey were to really work this summer and come back a better shooter (no reason to think he won't), and a fire were lit under Rip and Tay, it's not a bad team. Probably finish higher than this year's bunch.
The problem is that winning would require all the second tier guys from this past season to all get better and for the vets to also step up.
Odom or Ariza/Clark/Sharpe
Boozer or Milsap/Max/Amir
Chandler or Gortat/Kwame
Prince needs to be redistributed.....and maybe Odom, Ariza or Artest need to be singed at the 3....We need a defensive minded center to start.
Let me ask the question this way: How good can a team be with Kwame as a starting center?
Same as last season except there is no Dice or Sheed to start in his place, when Curry says the "Kwame Experiment" is over
My sentiments exactly
What about Curry's rots. Until he settles on some starters [20 games minimum] no one will buy into his garbage. I.E. wasted season...see Teal threads.
25 wins at most
By the way, I'm thinking at least one of Hamilton/Prince gets traded this summer.
I think if you tweak it to Gortat/Kwame and they don't shoot any 3's then they'll make the ECF as a worse case scenario.
I think if they make it that far, there will be no stopping them. What Cavs? We're not afraid of no stinkin Cavs...
I'm not sure if the league would allow it, but I think Stuckey could really assert himself as the leader of the team if he were to place a line (\) through his jersey number 3 to show that they're serious about getting inside this year.
We must think in a good line up for 2010, because there aren´t elite FA this year, detroit can´t attract best players available only overpaying players until arrive top salary cap and win nba.
Gordon(9'5 milions $) or James Harden(wizards pick)/A Affalo
Ariza/James Johnson/A Affalo
Milssap or Maxiel/James Johnson
Ariza or Marvin Williams/Affalo
Option B is wait Joe Johnson next year not trading Rip and develope BJ Mullens, and young player for next year.
Two option are in order to go to the lottery, next year draft there will be better draft in Center and PF positions,we can have a center to join Bosh and money for both, Bosh and Joe Johnson.
I prefer option b if gordon don´t sign 48 Millions $ five years contract.
Top five draft 2010 center/BJ Mullens
In 2011 we coul try to deal for Marc Gasol or Oden.
Let's go out on a limb and say someone like LeBron or Wade signs here in 2010. Now we have a superstar taking up a large chunk of the cap but we are well on our way to a rags to riches like Boston Celtic story.
The only problem being the C's went over the luxury tax to round out their team around the big 3 and youth. Anyone think the Pistons would do the same? (This is presuming the Pistons had some talent young or old to compliment a big dog - humor me please.)
so all assumptions are built on the fact that curry is staying?
Sheed should stay as a bench player 15 - 20 min per game
Who knows if "new management" would go that route? As long as Bill D. was around they weren't going there, but who knows what they'll do now?
Separate names with a comma.
