Not excusing the Pistons pathetic display and sub-par coaching, but when has a team w/o a superstar consistently won ships? Looking back from the Bad Boys era, the current Detroit Pistons are the only team to win w/o a superstar. Looking into history you come up w/ players like: Isiah, the Dream, Kobe, Shaq, Jordan, Duncan etc. These players produce every game and have that competitive attitude which drives their team mates. Can anyone imagine Isiah accepting the performances we have seen from the Pistons? Nobody on this roster wants to take ownership and burden of being a leader and go to guy. CB is full of hot air, Sheed has point blank stated that he doesn't want to be the main man and no else has the talent. Now the Pistons were awfully close a 2nd ship w/ LB at the helm and they were a few years younger. But I don't think this is a sustainable model. Joe got lucky w/ '04-'05 Pistons, but it is clear that w/o a go to guy the winning attitude is not sustainable. Maybe the exception would be to have great, not just good, coaches.

Yes, easily, as a coach or GM or Commissioner.

You have to go back to the 78/79 Bullets and Sonics to find the last example of this model prior to the 04' Stones.
