No disrespect to a man that taught us what the D in Detroit meant but I think it is time for him to step aside. Ben Wallace had an impact on games because of his hustle, quickness and athleticism. These things have left him. His rebounds are down. His blocks are down. His defense isn't what it used to be. He was never a scorer but on this team it becomes an issue. Without a rebound he can't even get the easy ones. It is time to move Monroe into the starting line up. He has shown the ability to rebound and even hit a jumper. He can make a free throw and needs the time on the floor to develop. I think there is no time like the present to make this move. The starting line up has been juggled over and over again but Ben has always been in. According to the Piston Site he has started all 30 games but I know he sat out at least one. We need more then 3 points from this position. Let him come off the bench as the third big. Move Wilcox up the chart. I have been saying all along that Wilcox can help us if he got some more playing time. He has some of the athletic abilities that Ben used to have and can play above the rim. We can stop the Max experiment too. Move Summers into the back up PF role and let's see what some consistent minutes would do for him.
