Iverson and McGrady have retired recently. Do either belong in the HOF?

Tell us what you think. Yes or no. Give reasons for your decisions.
Enough time has passed and this is due...
Do they have to PRACTICE anything for an induction into the HOF?

Both will eventually get in. AI was scoring champ 4 times and Tmac twice. AI made the allstar game 11 times and T mac about 7 times...

T-Mac was ridiculously talented the year he played for the Pistons. I thought Bill Simmons did a good job on his recent T-Mac piece.

Iverson is a HOFer, NO QUESTION. 11x All-star, 4x Scoring champion, 1x MVP award.

His All-star appearences alone would probably get him to the Hall of fame.

Iverson contributed to a cultural change in the NBA. He was both style and substance.
He was tough. Although his teams never won, he was a winner.

T-Mac might be the poster child for "all stats" no substance.
He folded when his teams needed him to dominate. He was a first round failure.
Dude had HOF talent with absolutely no heart.

    He'll get in eventually.
Personally, if I had a vote; I wouldn't vote him in.

McGrady reminds me of Bernard King in that both had careers curtailed by injury.
King is in the HOF and McGrady deserves consideration at least.
McGrady had little success in the playoffs, but was on teams with little help.
Both Grant Hill and Yao Ming were injured and prevented from helping him in a lengthy playoff run.
5.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists are numbers that don't scream HOF........
19.6 points and 18,000 career points are borderline these days.
His 7 year run of excellence was worthy of note though.

    Iverson was his own man.
Seems like society wanted for him to feel his ways were wrong.
He simply wanted the right to exist, and for that I applaud him.
Were there too many in his posse...I thought so.
Did he spend his money carelessly...heck yea.
Was he the most passionate basketball player of his generation...definitely.
    Was he boorish...maybe.
Did he know how to compromise...I didn't think so.
Am I rambling on too much...definitely.

Does he deserve the HOF...Hell yea........

Hall of fame should be more then all star games and stats IMO, but of course its not....

Either way AI deserves it, as he carried a team to the Finals on his own basically and was as tough a player as we've seen.

I don't think T-Mac should get in... just don't think he did enough to be a hall of famer..... hall of very great stats sure. I am probably in a very small group though.... unless Carmelo does something to get deeper into the playoffs I wouldn't vote him in either.

LOL. Many have already posted some good stats. Iverson with 11 All-Stars games, top 25 in career points, the 6th all-time career average at 26.7 ppg, over 5000 assists, nearly 2000 steals (13th all-time), and an NBA MVP. All McGrady really has is 7 All-Star games and a lot of points (60th in career points).

Hall of fame is exactly that, its the hall of the most famous players.

AI is a shoe in. Next to Jordan, that guy most revolutionised the modern NBA. Pretty sure he holds the playoff per game steal record as well.

T-Mac, for me, is a bit up in the air. Supremely talented, but he isn't one of the first five guys you would think of in basketball during his career. Perenial failure in the playoffs. Fantastic player, all the talent in the world, just never really focussed his art and had some bad runs with injury.

Iverson definitely belongs there. I didn't like him as a player, and I really really hated it when he was wearing a Pistons uniform. However, the guy had an undeniable impact on the game. He definitely deserves to be in there.

TMac, bah. I don't think he belongs in there, but probably will get in. He doesn't deserve it IMO. He is the previous iteration of Melo basically.
