This whole year has been a mismanaged dumb show and all this AI talk is starting to get real old quick.

Still 10 games left to prepare for a half way decent showing in the post-season so lets all hope for the best. Curry has been showing signs of becoming a better coach.

I didn't get the vibe either. You could pretty much take it out of a post on this forum that numerous people speculated on.

    edited to add;

Apparently it was a presser that gave polarizing opinions. Even Natalie from Need4Sheed posted a strong opinion about it. I didn't see it and personally i don't care. I'm not a fan of the one player has to have his own press conference thing. I get why the media does it, but it's pointless IMO.

I was watching the Heat v Orlando game tonight. They retired Mourning's # tonight. They interviewed his old AAU coach who also was Iverson's AAU coach. They asked him what Iverson was like back then and he said, "For 2 hours a day he was a great player. The other 22 he gave me a lot of gray hair." AAU coaches are a notoriously strict bunch.

I can't imagine what a force AI must have been in the HS showcase type events where it is not so structured. The dude also said Zo blocked 27 shots one game.

Actually, he doesn't explain anything. He conjectures, based on no evidence that he chooses to present, that he understands what's going on in the player's head, and body. It's all "reading between the lines", which of course is just a euphemism for "this is what I think even though it's not what's being said".

Soft tissue injuries are not possible to diagnose with MRIs, x-rays, etc. They don't show up, so doctors have to rely on what the patient says.

I have no idea whether AI deliberately sat out. It seems out of character to me, but I understand how someone could think otherwise. But, it's all conjecture, and clothing in McC's bad writing doesn't make it real.

Besides, I don't think it's hard to imagine at all that a veteran player coming into an organization would choose not to work with the snake oil guy but would seek treatment by folks he has used before, and where banana peels are not used.

    Excellent.

And remember, right after AI got hurt Arnie did that thing where he hugged him from behind and yanked him off the ground...that probably set him back a couple of weeks right there.

And, depending on what kind of mood Arnie was in, maybe it creeped AI out.

Why isn't McCoskey allowed to give an opinion? It would be a mighty boring article if he just detailed the medical reports. Again, it's not the injury, it's the absence and silence.

And what treatment did the Georgetown folks recommend exactly? 2 weeks of rest? Wow, good thing he had insurance.

He is, and how good they are will determine how successful he is at his job. I was reacting to you characterizing his opinion as explaining everything. Maybe I misinterpreted your tone.

I don't care what his views are though.... i read the detroit news website's pistons articles for FACTS... or the views of folks like Joe and the players.

If he had some quotes from Joe on how Joe felt AI was doing things wrong great... but if I have to listen to folks give there views on the pistons I'm alot more likely to listen to the folks on this website then that hack writer.

Dba, he is considered a living legend. One of the greatest journalists of our generation. He writes about sports, but more about life.

You probably thought Bill Bonds was a hack too.

Rest or activity. That's usually the prescription depending on the situation.

The human body is able to replicate biochemically just about everything a doctor can prescribe, and in better quality.

Let's look at it this way, Rob Parker got fired for wordplay that "wasn't boring".
If he can get canned for taking the coach of one of the worst Lions teams in history to task then Chris should be fired on the spot for insinuating that a future hall of famer with nothing but a history of laying his body on the line for the team is faking an injury.

    Let's be fair about it.

Why isn't rest a valid treatment for an injury? Its what most of us do. The only other they'd probably do is provide pain killers and they don't treat anything other than symptoms.
