Tough loss for the Warriors. It looked like they had it won in the last minute of regulation, but the Jazz completely dominated the OT.
Who goofed, I got to know! Did Baby Fats "Play The Right Way" tonight? What is my opinion of Okur's play tonight? How can you ask me such a question?
The fans in this game were off the hook!! Loud, loud and louder!!! I hope the next game at the Palace we can actually hear the crowd. I know it must be loud if you are there, but man, on TV it`s like a library compared to these other crowds.....
A lot of that depends on where the networks put the microphones and how they are set up. You can use microphones that filter out or enhance background noise. So you have to take the noise level on TV or the radio with a grain of Hollywood salt.
Every since RonRon and SJax went nuts a couple of years ago, Detroit has quite the reputation. I'm sure the networks and the NBA were a little nervous about miking the crowd. SLC is a pretty safe bet though.
I am loving watching Memo play in the playoffs. He is so cool and calm, but never hesitates. Not much emotion on his face and he doesn't do a lot of antics but he is very efficient. Before the season in this forum, I was hoping for a Piston-Jazz finals. I know there is still a long way to go, but I would still love it. GS came in thinking they could outrun Utah but it has not turned out that way at all. If this Finals pairing comes about, I will be looking to score tickets in Detroit.
Close games 1 & 2 at the Salt Lake. Warriors are good at home in the playoffs, GREAT as a matter of fact. Series might come back to Salt Lake tied at 2-2.
The Jazz squeaked by the Warriors in Utah, but in Oakland it's a different story. I really think the Warriors are the much better team, but Utah gets those friendly whistles at home and might make it to the WCF without winning a road game.
Watching GSW play at home, every time they take a relatively uncontested three, I think it's going in, and for Game 3 of this second round, 50%+ of the time in the first half I was right. I couldn't believe how well GSW shot the ball from behind the arc in that first half, and they continued to get key threes in the third quarter when the Jazz finally found their offense. The Jazz guards getting in foul trouble early didn't help the cause for the Jazz much, either, as it resulted in Boozer not getting involved until midway through the 3rd quarter (at which point he only had 5 shots). Davis' dunk on AK-47 now puts the marker at 2-7 by a very rough count, with 2 being the number of times Davis has managed to score a basket when challenging AK-47 around the rim, and 7 being the number of times AK-47 has turned him away by blocking his shot. Of course the last one is the only one that will end up on a poster.
Am I the only one that was bothered by hearing Coach Sloan throw Kirilenko under the bus? His team scored 100+ and the other team beats him by 20 and he feels they lost the game because Andrei bogged down the offense? Hopefully in hindsight the coach will think better of tossing his defensive stalwart under the bus when it's defensive stops that they need to win this series.
Fortunately for Baron Davis (and fans) that dunk on AK came when the game was pretty much out of hand so the refs didn't feel the need to call Davis for the off arm.
If I were SA or the Suns, I wouldn`t want to face the winner of the Warriors/Jazz series in the WCF.... Who knows what might happen!
I can't tell if it's the Jazz powder blue unis or not, but I had problems watching this game. I couldn't figure out why I kept switching channels until I realized I was bored with the constant running up and down and jacking up of threes. You got to admire how Sloan has prepared the Jazz though (though for me to say). Other than last night they've beaten GS at their own game.
