    After about 5 or 6 years a team starts to tune a manger or coach out. I think Leyland knew this and knew he had hit the end of his rope. The only issue I ever had with Leyland was that he was too loyal to underachieving players. Leyland restored Tiger baseball back to respectability. We were in the thick of things more than we were not while Leyland was here. He did the best with the players he was given and at the end of the day it is the players who play the game not the manager.

    Can't believe he only had 1 losing season with us with near complete player turnover. Verlander is the only real constant from '06 to now though... which is a pretty nice constant.
