    That was harsh.
Gruden got to the SB with Brad Johnson. And beat the Raiders that year. He kept the Bucs competitive with Garcia. 9 and 3 before dying this year. He could last 100 years in Det.

He only was 22-26 his last three seasons. Wayne Fontes was fired for similar results. He only won playoff games in one of his 10 seasons.
I feel mixed about how he would do with the talent the Lions come up with. :stooges:

Yeah, but he made the P/Os like 4 of the 10 years after the Russ Thomas dark years.
What if Wayno had made the SB ? He'd still be here.

Interesting. Both wayne and Jon share these similarities.

    4 playoff seasons
    One playoff winning season.
Both have close to .500 records with their last coaching gig.
Both let go after unremarkable 3 year span.

Wayno would be in the Michigan Hall of Fame if he won the super bowl.
I'd go as far as to say that he'd be the GM right now. (due to his pain)

I didn't realize Jon had only one winning P/O season with Bucs.
But that's what happens when you don't have first rd drafts.

Wasn't he the guy who WON the coin-toss in an overtime game and actually chose to KICK-OFF!

...Wayne FonTEZ was a an absolute moron.

That was Morningstar I think. He took the wind against Chicago.

Man that guy was an idiot.

    So much stupidity it's confusing.

I think I remember Wayne calling a "fourth" time-out that cost his team a close game once. To his credit, he always managed to put together a timely winning streak that assured the "Hions" of BACKING into the playoffs each and every year.

Somewhere out there - even today; Scott Mitchell is sucking!

Lions hire Cunningham as defensive coordinator

    LOL????

Chiefs were horrible!!!! Schwartz couldn't find someone else?

Edit: I was unaware they worked before, and they seem to have good chemistry. So, I guess at least they will be on the same page.

The Chiefs are a mighty big step up from the pond scum swamp hags that are the Lions.

i'm telling you.... cut the cord, just sit back and laugh at the lions with alot of us till they truely prove there serious about getting better, and show it on the field.

I can't see how anybody can still be a diehard lions fan anymore, from the owners down they show they don't care about us the fans.

    LOL
Sadly, I am a diehard fan. I try every year to just laugh at the awful decisions that the Lions organization proceeds with. I just always seem to stick with them.
