Perhaps because there were still intriguing prospects available at 7 and 8.

    ??

    What's 1+2??

What about the intriguing prospects at 9? Austin Rivers, Meyers Leonard, Jeremy Lamb, John Henson, Maurice Harkless, ...

I guess not as intriguing as who was available at 7/8, obviously. Making Drummond the biggest no-brainer pick since Trey Burke.

Pointing out that a train wreck isn't the same thing as the biggest disaster in the history of transportation since the invention of the wheel should not be viewed as defending the train wreck.

It's not about defending Joe D. It's about me going back over the drafts yesterday, curious about Paul George, and noticing how well Joe has drafted.

We're all adults here. We don't need to put devil's horns on Dumars and make him out to be the worst thing of all time. His record is his record. As is his drafting record.

And yeah, Cousins vs. Monroe. I just remember KGREG wanted Cousins and didn't want Drummond.

Its a difficult thing to draft. Look at Brandon Knight vs. Kemba Walker. Kemba had the resume but he was a little short. Knight's intangibles were off the charts and he had size and the athleticism. But Knight was arguably the worst ball handler I've ever seen at guard in the NBA. He improved to terrible after his first year. Both struggled early. At this point, I love Kemba's game. He is what he is. Knight looked to have more potential but he never seemed to be able to do the crafty things. Today, I'd rather have Kemba. But you don't know how things will shake out.

How far into a guaranteed playoff spot would this lineup be?

    C: Drummond/Harrellson
    PF: Monroe/Jerebko-Mitchell
    SF: Middleton/Singler
    SG: Knight/Singler-Stuckey
    PG: Burke/Stuckey-Bynum

Burke sure doesn't look like a starting caliber PG.

This lineup looks like it would be solidly in the Disaster Zone.

What agenda? I think if you asked 100 NBA execs today, a great many of them would agree that Jennings > Burke TODAY.

KCP has the potential to, someday, almost be as good as Khris Middleton is now

Not agreeing with you and defending Joe Dumars are two very different things. Roscoe pointed out that he had drafted very well, not that he was the greatest GM to ever grace the NBA.

I think it is arguable that his impact on his team has been greater than BJ. I definitely think he is a better team leader and fights a lot harder but on a pure talent level, I tend to agree.

That looks like the Bucks right now with a better centre and less depth.

That was the fun part, or can we say the sad part, might be the core of the sports business.
