Great article. He asked a lot of questions that I would have liked to ask. They seem like obvious questions to us Pistons fans but for the average league-wide journalist, they never scratch the surface that far.

Great article. I like the part about Andre Igoudala. joe didn't want to pay for iggy! fire joe! Yeah, players can choose where they want to go. I feel much better than on day one of the Jennings trade.

I don't love Smith fit-wise but I think the team made the right investment with him over Igoudala.

I really enjoyed the Dumars/Jennings stuff in that interview also.

Lowe has done 2 major pieces on the Pistons in the last month!

I also really enjoyed Joe's critique of Monroe's defense.

This really was a great interview. On Drummond's free throwing.

Although its simplified, it is absolutely spot on. Say what you will about Joe D, he knows basketball. Monroe reacts slowly, sometimes, because he isn't focussed.

Its the same reason that people like MGasol, LBJ, Wade, DHo are known as such good defenders. Because they are focused and they plan ahead, all the time.

I agree that this interview was a good alternative to the softballs that we oftern have to read by the Detroit beat guys.
A lot of the questions that were asked were questions that I would ask Joe if given the chance. Nice job by Zach Lowe.

It remains to be seen how "positionless baskeball" will work out but I'm optimistic about this team for the first time in many years.

I think I need to get a Zach Lowe t-shirt. Even though this was a simple little interview article, it was still informative to a Pistons fan, and not the ass-kissing type of piece you'd normally read from a national writer. I've never read a piece by that dude that I didn't walk away learning something from, and most of the time I walk away shaking my head at how content-thick his stuff is.

I also liked the comments from Joe about Monroe, not just for our info, but it puts the spotlight on him to step up. Greg has had a bit of a free ride being the best player on a bad team, but now we have a lot more talent and there will be more pressure on these guys. Plus its basically a contract year for him so I think (and hope) we are going to see the best from him this season. I saw him make a huge block in the USA team scrimmage that I'd never really seen before and I just went 'wow, was that Greg?' He also played some good pick n roll D in that game leading to steals.

Edit: Some kind person put together a highlight package.

3 lefty's in the starting lineup. Any other team have that? Also, is it a coincidence that they will be our 3 best passers? Right brain thing?

I have to give Joe some acclimades for really doing an honest and thoughtful interview. Good stuff.

I like the part where Joe implies that he doesn't think that Josh should be playing more than about six minutes at the small forward position each half. At 12 minutes a night, he's an asset there. Anymore and he becomes a liability.

He's showed some good stuff against some legit talent. He has great hands and footwork so there's no reason he should be such a poor pick and roll defender.

Two years ago he was a hard working bad ass. But he had to carry the team and I noticed he picked his spots more. I'd like to seem him 100% because they got guys that can step up when he needs a breather.

True, but I'm looking at his footwork on pick and rolls; he's showing really well in those highlights.

He did have a pep in his step which was good to see.

What an awesome outlet bounce pass he had in that clip.
