I appreciate your thinking here. We all know it's easier to replace a coaching staff than a starting lineup. Pudge was cancerous on a team that had Alan Trammell as the manager, but has become a professional again under the leadership of Jim Leyland. The right leader can cause a great deal of change in players attitude and performance. Joe's smart enough not to make an emotional decision based on guys' attitudes toward a coach that's no longer here. Be careful about trading a grumpy talented player for less talent and a better attitude. Attitudes can change given the right circumstances.
