ESPN just reported that Joe Dumars has just resigned for unspecified reasons. They said there is a 10:00 news conference scheduled in just a few hours at the Palace.

OMG, I can't believe it!!!!! I've had a feeling for a while that they've been grooming Isaiah (Rider) to take over.

OK, I own up to it. You got me, too.

I didn't look at the time you posted it. I thought you posted it before midnight.

Good one, irregardless (there we go, again).

LOL I don't really care. I actually laughed at myself and figured other people would laugh about it as well.

HAHAHA! Too bad it's not last year, if you said Millen, it'd been front page news!

hey, I did hear Ford was selling the team, though!

Pardon my biasedness, but this is my favorite post of the year!!! Thanks to all the good sports who acknowledged to being had. I thought it would be a little easier to catch some if it was very early on April 1st. :icon_evil:

I can't remember if it was an April Fools prank but a few years ago, a science teacher wanted to demonstrate to his students how gullible people are. So he told his class that in a matter of days, the USA will be converting over to metric time. There will be 10 seconds in a minute, 10 minutes in a hour, 10 hours in a day, 10 days in a week, 10 weeks in a month, and 10 months in a year. The school had many calls from people asking exactly when the metric time was going to be implemented, and thus, it made the news.

Buckeyes, you would have enjoyed the lab that I gave to my web page class this morning. The first question was:

    · There are about 100 million web sites that currently use the Apache web server. In the space below, list the 100 million web sites.

    LOL

I have a teacher friend who often gives killer tests, and they often struggle to have enough time, so they are in a huge hurry to get started. About every other year or so, in his directions at the top of the test, he tells them to read the whole test before answering any questions. The last question on the test says if you have not answered any questions, you may put your name on your paper and turn it in for a 100%. Out of 25 students, he has maybe 1 or 2 who followed his directions and got the easy A, while the rest of the class is fuming in agony. One year he had a student put white-out on his answers and the kid thought that would be acceptable.

I'm not too proud to admit that I was completely taken it to the point of turning on ESPN, looking for the press conference, being pissed at SportsCenter for it not being the lead story with some kind of coverage, and staring at the thread waiting for others to post giving the it credibility or not. :ohwell: I got a real good laugh and if the third poster raxrets hadn't blown the whistle I would have gone to bed confused and very upset about the "news".

P.S. I must admit I also had the thought OMG NO!!!!! "They" are going to blame this all on AI! LOL.

Kudos Buckeyes! That was great. Especially the timing of it.

I read the thread to check it out, but Buckeyes had the time wrong. It said something about a 10:00 presser and it was midnight.

Plus, Joe would never punk the Pistons like this, not so close after the passing of Mr. D.

But since he is the architect of this mess, maybe his resignation would not come as such a big surprise.

Actually, I had the time right that I wanted, but I was struggling with the semantics. I couldn't say tomorrow morning because it was actually the same day. ???

I guess I could have worded it like I was an Indian. "When the big light rises in the east".
