Who says it will be his decision to part ways with the Pistons? Gores cannot be pleased. Whats wiorse than losing is losing with no marketable impact. Lambeer would instantly bring credibility to this rudderless team in the Motorcity. Enough to last during the rebuild

When I read the article I thought they were saying he'd be a candidate once he gets fired from the Pistons.

It would be quite a get for Rutgers to land a guy who left his last team for 2 weeks mid-season, lost all their games while he was gone and still had no one wonder where he was and when he was coming back. That sort of charisma pays for itself.

I've questioned every coach hire since Larry got canned.

Bad Bill more than deserves to finally have a shot at bringing the team back.

And when B.L. starts winning we can all start saying Dumars was vindictive.

Who is to say the Laimbeer won't have an agenda against winning?

The ultimate would be Bill coming on as coach or even GM if and when Joe is canned... after all he was coach and GM for the three time champion Shock :rip:....Not being sexist here, but you would think handling those women, would be much tougher job than dealing with a bunch of dudes..:tape2:

The Afflack duck could run this team better than Dumars has

That Shock team played with a swagger that I have not seen in any WNBA team, and I'm man enough to admit that I regularly follow (and enjoy) WNBA. Bill (and Mahorn) had a lot to do with that. Laimbs would make one hell of an NBA coach.

I just don't understand why he wasn't brought in at least as an asssistant coach?
Sometimes wonder if Joe is freaking blind, can't even see what is needed when its right in front of him...

There must be some riff between Laimbeer and Dumars and only the two of them...plus the dearly departed Mr. D knows what it is for sure.

Even though Laims had an assistant job with the Twolves, Joe could have lured him away and paired him up with either Tablecloth or JonClueless to bring some toughness and winning attitude to the team while they were going through their transition.

If Dumars leaves in the next 2 years because they don't return to prominence, his GM legacy will be known for three things..his one (GM) NBA title that should have been at least three, his bad #2 pick of Darko and his failure to hire a known commodity in house (Laims) who matched him in NBA player rings and exceeded him in total championship rings. You have to wonder at this point if Bill would even take the job if Joe is still running the asylum:ner-ner:

Wouldn't it be fun to have him sitting over there coaching, assistant or head, I mean, come on.

I may finally get my wish...

Few coaches in the game are as prepared and thorough as Frank, but it's not resonating with this group. It would thus be a big surprise, at this stage, if the Pistons aren't soon in the market for a coach -- possibly a former player -- who might be able to vibe better with Greg Monroe, Andre Drummond & Co.

I love Isiah but no... he has a decent eye for talent in the draft, but I don't trust him to build a team.

willing to go with your coach though

I'd look at Rob Hennigan who works for the Thunder as an assistant GM to replace JD.
Bill Laimbeer is due a chance as an NBA head coach

I don't think Dumars is going anywhere.

If I could only fire one between Dumars and Frank, Joe D would be packing in a heartbeat.

Frank is such a loser that he's at the top of the list to get fired and can't even get his picture used in the article.

Maybe Tay prince is coming back to be the player/coach? They fell apart without him. This all could be an elaborate ruse to get one over on us.

Getting rid of Tay Prince was the single best thing that happened for the Pistons this season.

Long term your 100 percent right, but we all would be blind to not agree that the lose of him playing has added to the reason we have gone down the tubes... along with Drummond's injury. (not that we were any good to start with LOL)
