Offseason will help determine legacy of Pistons' Dumars - theoaklandpress.com
Answer seemed too soft to me...I wonder what Gores thinks of that answer......
Having to let Okur go to resign Sheed was unfortunate long-term, but it was not a dumb move. What should he have done, let Sheed go to resign Okur?
Okur didn't have a bad career post-Pistons but it certainly wasn't a great one.
I so disagree with this.
Looking back I can see Gores doing his homework and telling the pertinent people involved with the sell that he was not going to fall the league hype and Forbes questionable economics. He payed his price and is now ready to call for his team.
Bill Simmons on who won and who lost the NBA offseason - Grantland
When the experts start getting this giddy about our team, I get nervous.
Are they really giddy?
I think so. I don't like being on Bill Simmons radar.
I haven't seen much of anyone hyping up the team other than Simmons.
Cool your jets Roscoe. Enjoy the journey. You don't have to feel bad about being good.
When was the last time that the experts got hyped and we ended up disappointing? The experts didn't even like us in 2005.
True that. Never did.
Trading Brandon Knight 'wasn't easy' but Joe Dumars had to do it to upgrade Detroit Pistons | MLive.com
All of it sounds good, but how does this square with BG and CV signings? Is Joe growing wiser?
Ball may've been ghost writer.
I might refer to Gerald Wallace as a $30 mil cadaver.
Wallace's career really fell off of a cliff.
They freaking LOVED that guy in Portland.
It's unfortunate that he passed-away and donated his body to science after he was dealt to the Nets.
I used to really dig that guy's game and I honestly hope that he turns it around.
...that contract looks brutal if he remains the 2013 vesrion of himself.
There is more to it than just signing some scrubs to big contracts. I don't want to let Dumars off the hook for 2009 but people were saying things about how he didn't want to deal. The guy shook up the roster for sure this off season.
It's possible that at some point he did not want to deal, and at some point he was not allowed to deal, you know all that team beings sold stuff. But giving those contracts to those two didn't work out very well for the team. I know, I know, the hindsight...
I don't remember ever being that high on Charlie, but I thought Gordon would be a great asset. (Now that I've typed that, I'm sure someone like BillLaimeer will search the archives and prove me wrong.)
