woah woah, who said anything about the max?? you just said extension. what i'm saying is, if the pistons trade for stoudemire i don't want it to go to waste and have him leave in 2010 (unless we're going to let him go and sign bosh instead lol), so i'd like to see him sign a contract extension. i can't see joe giving anyone max money though (nor would i want him to).

Silly question...if this trade is announced before the AS game can Amare still play for the West?

I think at RealGM Chicago board, the Amare threads have amassed a total of over 250 pages.

So they'd HAVE to be a front-runner, right? :reading:

    Stoudemire pledges to elevate game

little tidbit of info to add fuel to the fire of how amare thinks he's going to kick @$$ and take names in the 2nd half of the season.

Perhaps if he actually elevated instead of talking about it the Suns wouldn't be hanging a highly regarded not overpaid big man out like yesterday's laundry.

    wow.

who wants a guy who either

    a) could be playing better better if he only decided to

    b) is deluded into thinking he could play better if he only decided to

    c) is too dumb to realize that making such a pledge basically reveals him to be guilty of either (a) or (b) above.

    arrogant fool.

yeah, well that was something i guess i figured went without saying: i thought this was the sort of b.s. we were hoping to avoid by "blowing up" the core.

i also want to take this opportunity to announce that i pledge that i will be elevating my posting after the all-star break.

I want to go on record as saying:

Amare Stoudemire is not a player that I'd like to build a team around.

what did he say that was so bad? he said his game goes up a notch because the team is buckling down and focusing in...like you want to be doing after the all-star break. to me he sounds motivated and ready to roll.

does no one remember how he TORCHED san antonio in the playoffs? not just any team...SA.

Amar'e Stoudemire - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

look at his playoff stats. the guy's an animal.

    NBA All-Star: 2005, 2007, 2008,2009
    All-NBA First Team: 2007
    All-NBA Second Team: 2005, 2008
    NBA All-Rookie First Team: 2003
NBA Rookie of the Year: 2003
NBA All-Star Rookie Challenge MVP: 2004

yeah, don't want to build a team around that!! /sarcasm

    ...Man.

So much love in here for Amare that you'd think his name was "Amire" (pronounced. - Amir-ray).

I ain't saying that dude doesn't have a nice game.
All I'm saying is that dude's nice game doesnt really fit what the Pistons have been about for 20 YEARS now.

I'd rather spend 20mil per season on a guy that plays a little "D" and doesn't have such a "I, me, me, mine" outlook on the game of basketball.

Fair point. I just think it would take max money to keep him. If there's one thing Amare has it's a highly inflated sense of value, and if there's one thing the NBA has it's stupid GM's.
