If we were to acquire Amare for Tayshaun would that mean he'd have to play SF like he's going to in the all-star game? In a Amare for Sheed trade would MC start Dyess against his will at PF and Amare at C?
Does AI put as much "passion" into his defense as he does jacking up shots ? Is he beating himself up? b/c with all the stories about him constantly partying at casino's and clubs it doesn't seem like the losing is bothering him all that much. Can we please stop making AI some sort of poster child for "passion and intensity" b/c the only person who brings it all the time is Antonio Mcdyess. He's just old so he's not as good as he once was.
Stoudemire: "It Would Be Phenomenal" To Play in Detroit || WXYZ.com | WXYZ-TV / Detroit | Detroit News, Weather, Sports and More Someone's pouring it on thick.
It's kinda funny how excited we get when we hear that someone wants to come to Detroit. We have such an inferiority complex, lol
Going from Phoenix in the winter to Detroit would be a tough move. If you didn't grow up in the Detroit area and you don't have that nostalgia, then it's pretty rare to welcome it. The draw from Amar'e is mainly the success that the Pistons have had in recent years. He mentions the fans and how supportive they are as a factor as well. This is why we should probably start making our moves now before the goodwill fades away (and not go through 2 seasons of destruction before trying to lure a big name FA).
Top fans in the world...who end their sellout streak. And this is good news, it def means it's for expiring contracts.

If Sheed can be had for a reasonable price, I don't see why you wouldn't go after him again. Especially if you gave him a center to play beside. He needs to play in the high 20s minutes wise, but can provide a lot in that time. What?!? Just this weekend I actually saw brown grass for the first time in months. It's much more attractive than brown snow. It's the little things that get you through.
Interesting about Phoenix being in financial trouble. IIRC, their owner was one of these boom time geniuses. Since real-estate was so big in AZ (I have lots of Canadian friends who have bought property there), I'm guessing things are going to get tight, and a million here, a million there...
The Z Report: Amare Stoudemire a Rocket? The Rockets will try but come up short Its now rockets, portland, pistons, bulls, miami, nets & warriors..
Yep if he comes to D-Town, I might even come back to visit... You can only hope Joe and Steve Kerr had a good conversation before the game yesterday and that Kerr didn't see any of our tradeable assets in action last night:( Amare will not be enough, but it is a start. I feel that waiting for the 2010 for some FA whomever will wind up being just what we get>>> somewhomever If it's Sheed +1 , lets get it done....If it's Rip + Max and draft pick, lets move before the Heat or Bulls trump our offer.
If we had a big that acutally wanted the ball inside and drew attention on a regular basis, then Rip could go to a new level.
Thats the whole thing. Thats what I was trying to say on the podcast in that you have 2 completly different situations. PHX needs to clear salary for financial reasons ( being the 1st club rumored to have been hit by the economy ). Wheras TOR wants to keep Bosh, wants to pay him but may have to salvage what they can get before he walks ( If you believe Steven A Smits report ). So Amare can be had for an expiring salary and change but Bosh will take a lot more talent to get. TOR is in no hurry, worst case scenerio for them is doing as sign/trade in 010 for some draft picks or something. Bosh is the better player but we can take advantage of PHX's financial issues and get Amare real cheap ( talent wise ) right now for one of our expiring contracts + change. I kind of feel that something is going to happen.
