This is a joke, Stuckey didn't get selected for the rookie team? My only hope is he wasn't picked because he'll be playing in the big game.
Ernie that is obvious. What other reasons would there be? Great for JJ, he certainly deserves it. Hate to say it, but the Sophs are going to STOMP the frosh...
Nice, he deserved this. Will be fun to watch, with all those guards I bet he's gonna get to play alot.
Heh, and I thought this year was going to be one year where Detroit wasn't going to have a single player at the All-Star weekened. Good for JJ.
Assuming the Pistons don't trade their rookies - and why should we unless we get a great player back in return? Might as well let this talented threesome develop - it will be very interesting to see how and at what positions they fit on this team. Jerebko seems very well suited for SF. It's great having a guy who has the heart drive and athleticism to guard all the best SF's, and still pound the offensive glass. Maybe that's his very best position on this team, even if he bulks up and can handle PF, too. Daye can play SF, PF and SG in this league. It would be fantastic if he could eventually start at SG. He's got great handle and passing ability (better than Tay in those areas), and he's going to be one of the best stretch the floor players, which is a nice combination for Stuckey. Gordon off the bench, Daye moving to PF -- matchup nightmares for opposing teams. And he's got the offensive game to stand up to the SF position. Summers also has 3 pt range. I think of him as more of a true PF by his body type, but he's never proven at any level that he's a great rebounder. Daye and Jerebko are each more willing rebounders. But Summers has great athleticism. He also could split time at SG and SF. If he works out, he's another nightmare matchup for defenses. We're building a team where it's very hard to match up with us. Stuckey is virtually unguardable at PG. If he's playing with teammates who stretch the floor enough, he'll kill just about any smaller PG playing him, and just about every PG who plays him will be smaller. Stuckey can either bull through those guys, or get dribble penetration against all of them as well. Hopefully, Bynum stays with the Pistons - when healthy, lest we forget, he's as dominant a penetrating guard as there is in the league (at that aspect of the game only, of course). Ultimately, we're going to be really hard to defend. And we're going to screw with other team's rotations.
I'm really happy for this guy, 100% hustle - 100% of the time, and much like AA, that 3pt shot that defenses are concedeing to him now will eventually become daggers that lead to Piston victories (next year, AFTER we draft Wall, Johnson or Turner). Can you imagine a frontcourt of JJ/David Lee/ and a young Ben Wallace.
Amir must have bumped Stuck from the rookie roster. ...and yeah, he's a lock to be a coaches pick to rep the East in the main event.
we'll hear lot of trade demands from Pistons lockerroom before 18. feb. The most radical demands are "trade Pistons away from Detroit" by trade deadline.
Atkins, because of he has to play; Stuckey, because of sometimes he has to give ball away; Bigben because of he plays like 25 yr old BUT he KNOWS that actually he is 35 yr old - 35 yr old players usually root from bench, but he has to play like 25 yr old...; Kwame because of he is 24 yr old but plays like 35 old, has lost his spot to 35 yr old who plays like 25 yr old player. Daye, because of he has finally recognized that he wont grow taller anymore and has finally to invest to ladder for harvesting apple trees. Tay, because of he has become from Iron Man to Rust Man; Rip, because of 3pt shot line has not been drawn to his preferred mid range area.
