He had a pretty decent showing in his 1st game with Raptors - 13 Min 11 pts, 5-5 fg, 1-1 ft, 3 boards, 1 blk, 4 fouls.

LOL! I took a step back. Its good to see that he's contributing well. At the time it looked like we overloaded on G's at the expense of big men but the addition of Ratliff makes this team look really good. Way to go Joe!

dixon > murray in my book but all those changes didn't happen at the time.

yeah. its good to go back with a different perspective too. as more moves happen and more knee jerk reactions follow, it'll be good to remember that sometimes, its just the beginning.

Not quite sure why so much negativity about Juan D. This was an excellent pickup for Detroit going into the playoffs. Every championship team needs a veteran backup guard.

Love Stuckey, but you're not sure what you're going to get because of his youth at this point. Lindsey will be more effective defensively, but Juan is a combo that CAN run the point, and can score like nobodys business.

I think with this veteran squad and the chemistry that we have, Juan will flourish. He was spectacular and poised last night...granted it was the clippers (lol)

Every championship team needs a veteran swingman to win, as well.

Do you think we would have won in 2004 without Darvin Ham?

    Where is our Darvin Ham?

Ageism is not a valid argument.

We will see. I know Dixon does not shoot 90% for this career like he did last game. He would be making max money if he always played like that.

I think Tayshaun may have enough playoff experience (games played) to be considered a "veteran swingman"

AM I SENSING SOME DARVIN LOVE UP IN HERE????? Hell yeah we need DARVIN!!!!!! I've been saying this for 2 years now, WE NEED D-HAM!!!!! Darv is the best 15th man cheerleader in the leagues history. You see that when Prozac Brezec tried out for that spot we traded him........You can not stop the Spirit of Darvin, you can only hope to contain it!!!!!

Juan Dixon and Jarvis Hayes went to the same school for defense.

The ChauncTaymilton school of stopping penetration?

I'm already more impressed with Dixon's ability to stay in front of his man than I am either of those three.

Former teammates don't compare him to a younger version of Lindsey Hunter for no reason at all.

Being better than Chauncey/Rip is probably not something you should be proud of.

Maybe the comaparisons to Hunter b/c he's active ? To me it always looks like he's exerting alot of energy with limited results, and it irritates that we have a taller SG who's fantastic getting DNP's

I second that. But I don't think it's going to get better any time soon. It seems that when playoff time rolls around Flip is going to be committed to his same old ways.

    Saunders tinkers with lineup

    Umm he's 'fantastic' or he's 'fantastic @ getting DNP's' ?

AA is not 'fantastic' yet. At least not even in a slightly consistent manner.

bla, It was only a matter of time until articles like this started coming out. Joe D should tell him i brought on veterans for insurance NOT to play over the rookies (unless i'm wrong on Joe's motivations here).

I would say he is. He's consistently fantastic on defense. And has repeatedly shut down someone who was lighting CB/Rip up. I remember even in the Lakers game, Kobe trying to lose him, and then being like forget it, and passed the ball.

His offense is a WIP, althought i think his shot is alot better than he gets credit for.

I guess my point is he's better than Dixon, and better in terms of post-season play, yet is sitting. Why is it so hard for Flip to play a player for his defensive ability or realize that's more important?

If Dixon was giving us great production it would be different, but he's not. It's the same argument that applies to Hayes/Hermann.

If AA wasn't getting rookie calls, he'd be even better. He can harrass players with the best of them.
