I'm so SERIOUS!!! No, really I am. So I am using THIS thread to state my case and strategy! And I don't care who does or doesn't like Melo! I believe Melo is the piece the Pistons need to become legitimate title contenders and Lala is the "piece" I need.......no further explanation necessary or appropriate.

So.... why not just bring Lala to Detroit and leave "him" to any other NBA city but Detroit.

How much are you going to [over]pay him ?
Did he get NYK to the second round ?
He was fairly good with CB that one year.

I think that Joe should sign Ricky Davis instead.
For much cheaper, he's sorta similar in style to Melo and gives you about the same chance of winning a Larry O'Brien trophy.
...And with all of the money saved, you can go out and sign Antoine Walker!

I think we missed the boat on him when Joe & Co (Wallacex2,Tay, CB, Rip etc ) had a chance to shape him. He now believes he has carte blanche to shoot first from where ever he is and give a half effort on D.

Mitch Cupcake can offer him more than Joe and Shaunie O'Neal can offer Lala:lalala: a continuing job with Basketball Wives LA, so the chances of them coming to Motown will be slim, unless the current Pistons team gets to the ECF next spring...then he can comeback and possibly claim that ring that Darko got instead in 2004 that he should have got, if someone had not pulled the wool over Joe's eyes.

    KGREG,

Here is a picture of Ricky Davis' wife. Perhaps your fantasy mind can work with this, and we can save a lot of money.

    No Melo!

Which isn't to say that this isn't Joe's plan.

Melo didn't have a strong year last year? He was mostly playing the 4 though.

Perhaps his clueless coach played him out of position.

The coach was playing to lose, obviously. Playing the Anthony Bennett sweepstakes.

So let me get this straight, you all don't want Rudy Gay and you REALLY don't want Carmelo (and LaLa) Anthony; but the idea of Josh Smith (a PF) playing SF is ok? Folks that GTW squad was lightening in a bottle, you have a better chance of catching Big Foot than winning an NBA title without a 20+PPG scorer.

Something tells me you guys are going to turn this into a thread about Big Foot :frusty:
