You know the joke about Tolstoy's "War and Peace" from "The Big Chill". If not, the movie is available for rent and is worth a view for more than that one joke.
Me too. If one of those guys goes down we will definitely need Nazr. Yeah, you could look at him as a very expensive insurance policy...but they're aren't many options besides I'll-play-when-I-wanna Webber or maybe DD (I'd take him back in a heartbeat), short of an unlikely Nazr trade coming up to the season. I agree.
You would not be saying that Kirilenko embodies the spirit and soul of Alexey Alexandrovitch Karenin would you? That seems like a big stretch of time and space.
Both these guys got off to great starts this year. But for now, it looks like Tay is more valuable, even though it's not clear cut. In 40 mpg, AK is averaging 12 pts, 7.6 rebs, 5.6 ast, .6 stl, and 2.8 blks with 44% shooting. In 40 mpg, Tay is averaging 21 pts, 6.3 rebs, 3.9 ast, .3 stl, and .7 blks with 51% shooting. When you factor in Tay's maturity level and AK's crying/asking for trade/general pouting, etc., then I think we have the dude we are looking for in-house. When looking at the #'s, something very strange jumped out at me. Prince has 1 personal foul in 113 minutes this year. And theoretically, he is guarding the other team's most dynamic scorers. Talk about getting respect from the refs!
I agree. Just the other day I was wondering if I should start a "Tay Goes On Record: "I got your Kobe right here" thread.
Tay is not going to score all those points, that's not his style. Although he could well average over 20 per game. He's a solid citizen in D-town and we don't need a crybaby to worry about.
Hold those thoughts folks. AK-47 promised not to cry or pout this year. Sloan said he is having fun again and if he stays healthy he could be a defensive whiz and offensive juggernaut. Stay tuned................
Kirilenko had some night against the Lakers his line....... 40 MIN, 20 POINTS, 11 REB, 11 ASS, 6 STL, 4 BLK The way AK-47 is playing so far, you would be crazy to not at last consider this trade...............
He won't wind up in a Pistons uniform even if he has a quadruple double for the Jazz. As long as the Pistons organization is configured the way it is AK-47 will never play for us. Have a nice day.
But would you trade Rip for Kirilenko and move Tayshaun to the 2 spot, this assuming Stuckey and Afflalo are going to be key pieces to our future. A line up of Tayshaun @ PG, AA @sg, AK-47 @sf, with AMir and Max, we could set a new record for shot blacks and defense, imagine the zones Flip could use.
