    This signing is clearly an effort to put continued pressure on Prince. It's signaling that if he doesn't up his game, he could be potentially replaced for short stints at a time in the distant future, once Singler adjusts to NBA life, develops a little more in the D-League, and completes Arnie's push up program.

    It's hard to screw up a rookie deal (even for Joe).
    I'm sure he had to fight an urge to overpay Singler after seeing him in Pistons' summer league gear for the past couple of weeks. There's something about seeing a player with a Pistons logo on his shorts that makes Joe want to open up his wallet.

    If Jason Maxiel is smart, he'll wear his uniform to his contract negotiations at the end of the season. This will ensure that he gets offered double of what he's worth prior to other teams even having a chance to submit an offer sheet.
