I think Amir does also. He's no JJ Redick, that's for sure.
JJ is the complete package.
Anyone going to pick up the torch for Walter Sharpe after his well executed score last night. He really looked good on that play.
I'm with you. I hear he is still growing and have been saying since the summer league that he should be starting.
Trust me he was making millions (tax free!!!)..He played on Maccabi Electra and was one of the best players in EuroLeague. The top players in that league make millions. There are players like Bynum who make their money overseas and still come back to the nba to try even if its for the minimun just to try and make it in the States and be closer to home. That's why so many European players stay there because you can make millions there, but be a min contract player in the Nba until you've actually proven yourself.
If Bynum can't get a better contract eventually (which I'm sure he will) he'll end up going to the EuroLeague.
Keep on hating on Amir . It's just going to feel that much better when you guys are wrong. LOL
I seem to remember AA being an inept offensively challenged guard who's defense is so overrated.
Amir's old high Westchester High won the California state basketball championship today ~their first since he left in 2005. While he was at Westchester, his teams won the state title in his Freshman, Sophomore and Senior years. While Amir was the star on that 2005 championship team his sr year, it was Trevor Ariza who he teamed up to win the title with in 2003.
Just think if Amir would have had the grades, he could have followed Ariza and enrolled at UCLA in the fall of 2005 and stayed all four years to polish those skills and come out a bonified top pick player this summer with the mad skills that everyone is still looking for.
Now here is the biggestIF that long time Bruin fans dream about as their streak of going to the final four was slam dunked today by Villanova.
If Ariza had stayed all four years, the 05/06 team of Ariza, Amir Johnson, Jordan Farmar, Aaron Afflolo, Cedric Bozeman, Luc Richard A Moute, Josh Ship and Darren Collison would have beaten Joakem Noah's Florida team in that title game instead of getting bounce because Amir and Ariza were selfish and chose to go to the NBA early.
Instead of being money hungry, all members of the 05/06 team except the senior Bozeman, would have returned to defend their title and 06/07 team would have added freshman sensation Russell Westbrook to the roster and would have gotten past the Gators in the semifinals and beaten Ohio State in the finals. (if you recall all of the Gators returned to defend their title).
In the tradition of Bruin dynasty, all of the team members would have returned for the 07/08 team which would would have added high school all American Kevin Love to the roster and this time when they hit the final four and took care of the Derrick Rose led Memphis Tigers in the semis and then would have beaten Kansas in the finals. Afflolo, Ariza and Farmer would have graduated last summer with three titles leaving Amir, Love, Westbrook, Collison etc to win it this year.... but only Collison and Shipp stayed in school all 4 years and it was not enough...
ah yes that's what Bruins fans think of and of course if Mr Amir had went there and stayed we would not have been arguing and drooling about his potential until this years draft
