Solid. Good for Bill. Now, maybe the whining about 'no NBA coaching experience' will stop.

I'm sure Laimbeer's WNBA experience will add just as much as Theus' experience as head coach of the Deering Tornadoes:

Very glad to see this. I hope that first rung up the ladder was the hardest to scale. From here on, up, up and away.

I think he will make a difference.

And why couldn't we offer him a position in the Pistons organization? What did we have to lose? Utterly ridiculous...

They interviewed Laimbeer on ESPN's OTL this morning (obviously before the hire). They also interviewed Barkley about Laimbeer. He said if he was a GM, Laimbeer would be his first call...quite an endorsement when considering their on-court relationship.

The irony here is that Joe didn't have the balz to interview Rambis as his coach, a dude that learned under the tutelage of both Riley and Jackson...and then Rambis selects the other guy Joe ignores in Laimbeer...??

I believe that too. Happy that he is given an opportunity to coach in NBA.

I'm pretty sure that was from a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it though, thanks for the reminder.

Laimbs must have wanted a chance at a head coaching gig bad. Didn't he say at one time he wouldn't take an asst. position?

Laim still needs to keep his nose clean and not fight with players and coaches.
    Verbally or physically.

Yeah that is the segment they aired about 3 weeks ago...Coach K had already been hired when it aired so poor Laims never had a chance.

This crossed my mind too... Joe don't like drama.
This will be a good test of dealing with high priced egos and their agents.
A prima donna tested Laim will be a better fit here...
not that he's much diferent than LB... just doesn't have the L rep yet.

He kept his nose pretty clean with the Shock. I think he's a changed man. Joe might come to regret not acknowledging that.
