Yep 14-0 run to close it out with our two draftees getting the last two buckets..

14-0 run to close it out. Great job by the Pistons defensively.

We finally got whistles in the clutch.

Nice 4Q for the kids. White looked efficient in the box score.

Awesome comeback. I have to go back and watch the game thru but Monroe looks promising and Summers, Daye and Jerebko are showing some good stuff.

    I am lukewarm on white.

Great comeback, monroe struggled a bit, but im sure he'll do better in the next couple games. Summers, White and JJ all did great but I was most impressed with Austin Daye.

I don't like his footwork. He's got heavy feet and runs a little like, gulp, Chuckie Villaneuava. I thought he did ok fighting for boards though. Now I'm not sure if he should play the 4 or 5. He is not athletic, but made some nice moves like a running hook he missed. I'm warming to Al Jefferson.

Great win against the World Champs though.

Daye's 1st hoop was sweet. I'd like to see if he can hit that in real games. He dribbles like a little kid. The only thing missing is him warding people off with his off arm.

Despite winning back to back titles the Lakes seemed to have the 2 best rookies in Charachter and Bob Eubanks.

    Here's a little Theecap:
Daye may have lost weight since last year but he his more tan. He can shoot OK. JJ was picking up bad calls[taking charges] all nite but he stayed focused and got the dagger calls in the last 2 min. Summers heated up late with some big 3s. Laker scrubs were wearing out the Piston LVSL vets, Daye and JJ. They lead by 10 pt. from the second Q. til late in the 4th Q.
They said Fritzpatrick was coaching. Any way Hayes gets the no free chili award when he horizontaled Jaaber going up. There's your thug.
Turns out I was sitting behind Brent Barry all nite.
T.White can dribble. I'll try and post some video.
Tough nite for the other scrubs as we only 7 deep FAPP.

Hope next game Monroe can deliver best numbers.

I'm excited about White.. Does He look like a PG???

Someone tell me !! We need to have at least 1 PG in the roster.

bmi is a terrible unit of measurement for athletes or weightlifters..

IMO White kinda blew as a PG but rocked as a 2. The guy can score, defend and distribute but I've seen better PG play from past summer league guys who never made the team.

After watching 3 quarters, I was wondering if Summers would make the team this year cuz he kept getting stuffed and his footwork near the basket looked somewhat uncoordinated. But he made some good defensive plays and hit a lot of free throws and nailed some key shots.

Daye was fun to watch except he reminded me of Prince when he stopped ball movement. He's got a lot more poise this time around and I hope we see solid improvement during the season.

I enjoyed Brent Barry's commentary and insight into the game.

Again our interior was shredded without reciprocation on the other end. I assume there will be one game where we abuse the other teams front line but this is an all too common thing.

Austin Daye looks like a little baby!

Nice game from the Pistons. These kids are going to have to play hard if they want to win 35 games this year. Good luck, dudes.

This was on the link for the summer league clips:

Ron Artest is crazy, and I'm starting to love the guy. They ask him about winning the championship, and his game, and he apologizes to the entire roster of the 2005 Indiana Pacers! Amazing.

Could David Aldridge cram that mic any further into Austin's face? LOL!

I liked what I saw out of Monroe, Summers and White actually. Summers got blocked a few times, but they instructed him to go tot he rack as much as possible. I'm sure he forced a few of those drives. I think he went 9 for 11 at the line as a result from all the contact. I'll take 9 free-bees and the other teams foul trouble any time. We need a good (bigger) penetrator, it'd be great if he could help out in that area.

Monroe's footwork is terrific. I wouldn't say he's not athletic, he is. He's just not a leaper. His spin moves and foot speed are good. His intelligence and ability to doop defenders is excellent on top of that. He's the type of guy that could have a long career playing very effectively into his late 30s. Guys like JJ, who rely on athleticism, quickness, etc tend not to last as long.

At first, I was a little bummed we didn't get a powerful dunker, but Cousins isn't that guy either. In fact, I think Monroe might end up the better player down the line. He's smarter and seems more mobile IMO.

I'm looking forward to seeing Monroe and Cousins go at it on monday though for sure.
