A case can be made for every one of those guys based on what Joe would likely have to pay them vs what Stuck will command in his upcoming contract. Aside from J-Rich, all of these guys would likely require less money. And yes. I DO believe that most of these dudes could give us Stuckey's production if they were given minutes and the ability to play through mistakes like Stuckey has.
Replacing Stuckey with a guy who "could" give his production is a step in the wrong direction. The expected average production of all possible productions needs to be the same or better, not just the good turn outs. A player who "could" give us 15.3/4.5/3.0 (everything else equal) if things work out is a step back in expected value. We aldready got a guy who can give us those numbers without the risk of failing in Rodney Stuckey.
But "that guy" will likely cost too much at a position that we don't really need additional help with. We already have too much cheddar locked up on shooting guards (even assuming that we can find a taker for Rip). We need to cut our expenditure at the 2 position so we can address other glaring needs that we have on this roster. We need a PG. Stuckey was given a shot at the position and now he's a SG. ...we don't need anymore SG's.
Makes sense. The Carpenter's dilemma: You have quality wood with long grain experience. This would be JMax, Tay and Rip You have an added application process that is meant to show off the good grain. This would be CV, BG. Problem: new client has gone modern and enjoys the transparency of Big City Light. Just too many dark pieces that cannot expose rich shadows. Carpenter new solution: How to Paint Backwards by Ken Hosmer Result: Keep only the beginning dark (Monroe and Stuckey) and bring forth only the light.
Knicks writer wished they had resigned T-Mac...and yes they would be better with him. Should The Knicks Have Resigned Tracy McGrady?
Hey Donnie Walsh. You can still have him! Give us your '11 first rounder and he's all yours! or Do this! NBA Trade Machine - ESPN
No. Not even close. The trade that I propose is Rip and T-Mac for Eddie Curry's expiring contract. ...Just to be clear, I have no interest in Eddie Curry.
That's what I meant. Austin Daye seems to have a good perspective on his current status: Austin Daye on WZAM: Coach Kuester does a good job deciding when to pull me and when to let me play through my mistakes | MLive.com
That's the intangible that TMac brings to the team. Sounds like he's actually trying to teach the youngster by giving him pointers and positive encouragement. It's better than the teaching-by-osmosis method Tay uses.
TMac is 50%, which is 90% better than any player on this team. On this current team's level of fan perception, most are now humming his cantonal chant within isolated monastery walls.
