    Hello,

Thought I'd create this thread to keep up with the latest rumors about the Pistons. So far here's what I've heard:

    (1) Jason Maxiell and Corey Magette will not be returning per mlive's David Mayo.

    (2) We are targetting Josh Smith to fill a hole at SF! Per Vince Ellis.

    (3) We are also looking for a PG according to Vince Ellis. Calderon perhaps?

    (4) We are in the mix for Eric Bledsoe but so too are a handful of other teams.

    (5) Joe D said he's targeting athletic wings that can shoot during his draft press conference. No names but Iguodala comes to mind.

We haven't let Stuckey or BoT go yet.

Without Maxey the Pistons are going to need another "go to" guy when the shot clock is dwindling.

I like a new rumors thread!! In addition to the OP, I've also read that there's "mutual interest" between us and Iggy, and that we're 1 of 4 teams in pursuit of JR Smith.

32.8 M in cap-space, potentially (add rookie contracts, subtract villanueva's (amnesty) and half of stuckey's (buy-out))

    Josh Smith ~ 14.0 M, 18. M in cap-space.

    Andre Iguodala ~ 11.5 M, 7.3 M in cap-space.

    J.R. Smith ~ 4.0 M, 3.3 M in cap-space.

    Jose Calderon ~ 3.1 M.

...Theoretically, we could sign all 4.
    C: A. Drummond, S. Kravtsov
    PF: G. Monroe, T. Mitchell, J. Jerebko
    SF: J. Smith, K. C-Pope, K. Middleton
    SG: A. Iguodala, J. Smith, K. Singler, K. English
    PG: B. Knight, J. Calderon, P. Siva

That'd be a team that's, at least, right on the heels of Indiana, Brooklyn, Chicago, etc.

    Josh Smith...........let's see.

He'll have at least 5 teams bidding for his services.
He's the best available not named Paul or Howard.
He'll probably get close to max dollars.
JD cannot afford to overpay again in a down market.
17 mil + per season could rock the boat.......morale wise.

To be honest, I'm not really a fan of signing Josh Smith. I just don't see how he'd fit with our current roster. Sure, he'll make our defense better but that's about it. I'd much rather go with someone like Iguodala who can play D plus shoot.

It just says they won't waive him. They can still trade him (optimist mode)

It says 4.5 in the title. I think they wrote 45 because they can't use dots in the middle of links.

Stuckey coming back kills everything unless there is a clearly defined backup point role for him.

I would re-up Charlie before I'd play him again. Nemo is right, Stuckey lurking = wet blanket and griping.

So we keep 4.5 in tradeable salary. Oh boo hoo hoo.

Guys, you need stuff to trade and Stuckey will be expiring. Forget how bad he is, the expiring will be valuable to someone trying to cut salary.

I don't really view Stuckey as a wait and see candidate........

He's more of the dump and flush variety.......
