If they get rid of Bynum, who do they replace him with? Who is going to get the ball to Dre so he can score?

This news makes MVT's choice of (and steadfast reluctance to change) username eerily prophetic.

    Long live roscoe36!

Agreed. Bringing in Sheed as the assistant coach is worth at least two more "+"

I can't begin to describe the angst that having to suffer through a 7TH season of Stuckey, yet seeing Bynum be forced to hit the bricks, will cause me. :jail:

So what's the word on the streets of Auburn Hill regarding FA? Don't tell me we got Smith and that's it? Are we leaving Max out there to fend on his own? I am thinking we re sign Bynum. maybe offer Billups a contract as we can always use a shooter or anybody who can shoot threes...

I didn't see any FA small forwards out there that should start, so the question remains can we steal Gay away from the Raptors offering Stuckey, BoT, and/or JJ & future picks?

I don't have any problem leaving Maxiell on the outs...I like him personally, but I have no desire to see him eating up any more minutes from young big men. Hell, I'd even be OK with the money if we packaged him in a S&T with CV, & Freight Train to make the money work to get someone like Gay. I'd rather see what Smith will be able to do at the 3 as I don't want Drummond having to come off the bench AGAIN this season. IS Smith beyond being able to improve his outside shooting?

It's just proof positive that if you stick with something unfashionable long enough, it will come back around.

NO...never. Paying him to play here is like some kind of indirect / retroactive award for sprinting into the stands to fight the wrong guy because he wanted no part of Ben Wallace after cheapshotting him. If he would love to work for Joe...have him suit up for free. (Yes, I know that's not possible under the CBA)...The only way I would be alright with this is if 1) he took the league minimum and donated the entire thing to charity and 2) was NEVER ever ever in the discussion for starting (can we PLEASE end the era of past their prime SF contributing little yet playing 40 mins a night?).

Well I knew you would never approve of it after he went after Big Ben....LOL....they are arguing the same points on the Clipper forum too, but they already Barnes to deliver the crazy-toughness, so they don't need two of them.

The Pistons wouldn't have to pay the full Artest contract. No team will put in a full waiver claim. The team that bids the highest on a partial waiver claim will get Metta at a reduced rate and the Lakers will pay the remaining portion of his original contract.
